Fractal
A school where I was once a teacher,
two pupils' fathers were landlord
and tenant. Furthermore, each father
was out of work and in discord.
The bank owned the house, the mortgagee
skimm'd the rent, the renter got money
from the State. He was frown'd upon,
although he receiv'd no soupcon
from this scheme. Not an entrepreneur,
as is described a rentier.
Just dismissed as an envier
of the others unearn'd sinecure.
A vector to feed has to bite,
but he's not the true parasite.

Stick At It
As she was going to the bathroom
she asked me to make something rhyme.
Mmm, easy enough I presume
if only I can find the time.
I settled down with pencil sharpened -
drawing the blinds the room was darkened.
It gave me a bit of a fright
as my page stubbornly stayed white.
Perhaps a different kind of thinking,
perhaps a crossword solvers kind -
from a devious sort of mind -
help'd my white blank page to start shrinking.
As to the moral of this tale:
stick at it and you will not fail.

Truck Stop (or the Repeal of the Truck Acts 1831 and 1960)
A sorry modern fable from Aesop -
A massive nationwide wealth extraction -
That's how we were shafted by the Truck stop.
For over one-fifty years no ad-hock
pay but cash after negotiation.
A sorry modern fable from Aesop
telling how the law chang'd giving us a sop
for our hard work in this new transaction.
That's how we were shafted by the Truck stop.
The Wages Act '86 did the swap
of value - without any distraction.

showing our ignorance for the rights drop, ...

For the love of ...
I just want to express my admiration
for a chap called William Ellison.
Born a slave in a not very great nation:
by talent and skill his freedom was won.
To free his consort Matilda his mission
- for children are born free post manumission.
Next, to own land and slaves himself his scheme,
for isn't this the American dream?
When established as a cotton gin maker
he built his empire using slaves as bricks.
As we know, pricks don't kick against the pricks.
Upon his death he left 1000 acre.
At the time race had not been invented, ...

English Lane
I sit in the old servants quarters of
an English stately home. Behind the wall,
a partly cobbled green lane which I love.
Going down the lane from this aging Hall
in a wooded glade is a metalled road.
Going right, past a white wash Lodge withal
a scattering of dwellings now bestowed
by this beautiful walk through bright sunbeam.
Toward a bridge under which a burn flowed
where trout swim stationary in the stream
and, sometimes in the woods, roe deer are seen.
Continuing on this road as a dream
especially at...

LBC - Leading Brtain's Condescension
Forever leading Britain's condescension,
every story is an ace in the hole.
Peddling propaganda by repetition,
uniformity of thought is their goal.
By open invitation a new caller -
not as articulate as the broadcaster -
raises a sensible and cogent point.
An alternative thesis out of joint
with the monopoly of truth prevailing.
This unleashes scorn and belittlement,
tuts and sighs are added to the torment;
the host turns boorish and starts complaining.
In short, Peter Dale Scott's 'conspiracy
of denial' from this false clerisy.

Work Creation Scheme
I am my boss's work creation scheme.
What would he do if it were not for me?
I explain to him where the work has been
and my vision of where it needs to be.
My - not his - talents enable the dream
and complete the project with certainty.
But saying his contribution is scant
will ensure that I am made redundant.

Thank you Sarah for the prompt reply.
But beware being efficient,
or everyone will start to rely
upon you being proficient.
If that were the case I might wonder
that you'll quickly become snowed under.
I want to see your usual self
'cos you know it's good for your health.
So please go back to the good old you,
who with work requests would often deal
by the use of a swift back heel
(even if it made some of us blue).
Please don't take offence, none is meant
a compliment is being sent.
