Just another day
I wake up in the morning and the sun is shining bright
It's a pity, a shame that my life is so shite
As I put on my coat I knew I should have lied
Told work I ate something dodgy last night
I used to go in and I used to care
Made the most of my time whilst I was there
But it took me a while for me to open my eyes
No one else tries as much as I try
I tried not to drink and I tried not to smoke
The only enjoyment I had left was giving my girlfriend a poke
And even then work would take that away
They took out the p from...

Shit sandwich
Life is like an open door that never shuts
People will walk in and in the end always walk out
We all worry too much, or maybe it's just me
I would always envy the care free
Society tells us to worry
Constantly feeding us our daily spoon of negativity
The sad thing for most of us is that we will spend most of our lives working jobs we hate
All that precious time that we will never get back
Just to make someone else rich
When I was at school my teachers would always drill into us about how the working world will open our eyes
Yet if...
People will walk in and in the end always walk out

To make love
When I look at you I'm blinded by beauty
Inside and out
See, you have this ability
An ability to reach inside me and touch something I never knew was there
I've never had sex with you
Ive only ever made love to you
There's a difference between the two
A difference only people truly in love will know
When we make love I look into your eyes
And I feel like Im looking deep into your soul

My one true companion
It's been a while since I heard your voice
I'm starting to crave that sound you make
The way you respond to my touch
Always perfect in every way
You always seem to be able to portray my feelings much better than I could alone
And there you are in the corner of the room
Always tempting me to touch
A thing of beauty
When I struggle to find words
You speak for me
And when I feel down
You lift me up
And when your job is done
Its back to the corner where you stay
You will always be part of me
Until my last day
I'm starting to crave that sound you make

Say hello to the good times
Goodbye to the bad
No point in dwelling on the things we used to have
We had our time and God gave us a gift
Now it's time to make sure its a good life she lives
And even though I can't be with you
I think of you everyday
Your mum takes photos whilst you sit and play
Just seeing that smile beaming from your face
Makes me want to stop time before it begins to race
You're my light when the world gets dark
You're the reason that I breathe
My daughter
I love you
More than you can believe

Crack me open I split in two
Not a question of what?
But a question of who?
One side weak
One side strong
One side right

When the wrong takes the steering wheel you're in for a ride
When the right regains control
Its just in time to watch life slide
Everyday is a battle

Home is where my mind is
There's a couple of things a miss from back home
The food, the landscape and having a good old moan
Nar that a think abart it I could really eat a pork pie, with a big dollap of brown sauce on side
Afterwards I would go for a walk in my Yorkshire attire, a flat cap, a walking stick and shirt just big enough to cover my spare tyre
Al end up in pub having a pint no doubt but not too many or I'll be going home to a clout
But there is one day that I miss the most
And its the one when we have our Sunday roast
It's bloody gorgeous and I'd have it every day if...

Failure
Actions in anger never leads to happiness
That I know too well
Now I spend my days alone emotionally
Watching you grow up from a distance
Surely soon I will just blend into the background
You're both on my mind from the minute I wake, to the minute I sleep

It was just the three of us together, happy
God I wish I could have not awakened and just stayed in that moment forever

Life behind the walls
Men and women leave their homes
Leaving their families behind
They stand and queue and wait their turn
Having to listen what the management spew from behind
"We do this for you, your safety is key", they say
Practically giving you the finger as they walk away
Just tell the truth, that profits are key
It's easy to stand there and say sorry to our families
By then your pockets are lined but their hearts now empty
But all is well as long as the factory makes plenty
Money
It has us by the throat, you have us by the balls

Wishful thinking
In times of chaos is the potential for magic to begin
If you stop and just listen, you will hear the birds sing
Our skies are more clear
Our seas becoming pollution free
It's a time to be kind to everyone you see
Despite all the loss and sadness we have to endure
If we come out of this smarter
We can create a better future
So let's not go back to our old broken ways
Let's give our children and grandchildren much better days

Foreign land
I wake up to beauty inside and out
And although things may sound different
They still look the same
For I am the stranger
Adventurer, explorer of a new world
A ticket with no return
To which I wouldn't mind
Back home my body is beat by stress
Here the only thing beat is my liver
Travelling opens your eyes
Makes you realise that outside your bubble
Is more bubbles, everyone different Floating around in their own unique way
Kids love bubbles they love something new
I guess as we get older we get comfortable
I don't like...

Remember when
I wave your way but you turn from me
I speak, you hear, yet still no answer
You're in my head so I try to shake you free
Do you remember when things were good?
You were my first thought, my last and everything in between
Our hearts used to race as we touched each others skin
When I looked through your eyes I could see the real you
A part of you kept only for me
Something the rest of world would never see
For I had the key
But now that key doesn't work, access no longer granted
I remember when things were good
And that's the problem
