Looking Back Fondly
As a child I remember dancing in my socks on our hardwood floors
Spinning round and round
Happy-not a care in the world
Oh how I long to return to that exact moment in time
When my soul was free-untroubled
The world was mine-the entire universe within my grasp
When I could still hear the birds sing and bees hum-nature's orchestra
When fruits still tasted sweet
Before reality stung me-blowing my candle out
Before life became so hard and burdensome-like torture
*5 senses challenge
Prompts: Universe, orchestra, candels,...
Spinning round and round

In dreams
I see you in my dreams
Hear your melodic laughter
We stroll hand and hand in the night
Through the fields of lilac and clover
Their perfume permiates the air
Reaching me in my slumber
I awaken startled disoriented
As my mind begins to clear
My eyes fill with tears
Tears begin to fall for time wasted-things left unsaid
Crying for the trips we will never take-delicases uneaten
Wines never sipped-never drank-never tasted
Oh how I long that I could forever and ever sleep
So that in my dreams you will come and visit me
...

Mistreated
Broken bones, black and blue, bumps and bruises
Conniving, constricting, concealing, convincing
Demented, deplorable, disgusting, distrusting
Expendable, expensive, exasperating, exacting
I am so used to being mistreated, used and abused

Blue Lapiz
I swallowed all the bitter, chalky acidic pills; feeling them melting as they burned my throat
You can't hurt me if I get me first
I just wanted quiet-couldn't think, black hole that was sucking me in getting bigger
Each swing of his fist
Each time he screamed "Nigger"
Deepest, darkest midnight coal black-I floated high above my ethereal body
Watching them smash my chest-begging me to come back
I wasn't here
Nor was I there
In a room filled with books as far as my eyes could see I found myself wandering
I ran my hands along the shelves,...

The well
I must share with you my latest discovery.This fresh new information isnt for the faint of heart, the meek, the weak, the dainty. In the deepest darkest corner of my mind-I stumbled across something quite deadly-the utmost harrowing find. A well; quite old, black-looking unused and decrepit. Bravely I stepped to peek over the edge-my Lord! I wish I hadn't! It willed me to gaze upon it. I cursed its wicked deception. For when I looked down at the midnight black muck-terror seized my heart as something unholy straight from the bowels of hell rose up.

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes
Exhaling deeply she opened them;blinking occasionally to try to adjust to the enveloping,suffucating pitch black.The smell of lilacs was overpowering brining with it's heavy perfume a thick fog that clouded her mindset. Through the thick mist memories seemed to assault her viciously;vivid pictures of happier noments-long forgotten. Beautifully painted portraits swimming and swirling round-left untouched and neglected tucked away safely in the back of her mind. Packed up carefully in the seldom used recesses of her heart...When he was here...

Beast are you sleeping?
I gaze upon your beauty-gently entwining my body with yours
Wrapping your limbs in mine
Feeling the softness of your fur
Hearing your soft, slow, rhythmic snores
In your throat the deep rumble of your purrs
Beast are you sleeping?
I gaze into your face as your ears and whiskers twitch -I try to imagine your dreamscape with the colors both vibrant and rich
Do you run through the tall grass wild and free?
Or do you leap high into the air off of a narrow precipice
Splashing down into a crystal clear blue lagoon...

in my dark times
Sitting here ponder and wondering
My palms are sweaty, my heart racing, my mind is wandering
Dark thoughts begin to creep into the crevices of my mind
You know how I am love
I do this all the time
Anytime I feel you slipping away
Pain, hurt, doubt roll in like thunder clouds on wet, stormy, dreary day
They sneek and they creep
They tug and they pull
My mind becomes a whirling, turbulent cess pool
Toxic and posioness is what my thoughts have become
My hold on reality feels strained-so weak
So it would seem this is the way it has to...

damaged, broken, busted
You dont posses the power within you to hold, to melt, to mold all the small pieces of my soul
To fix all of the stuff, piece together all of the "extra parts", the junk
Quiet the monsters, silence the demons, smother the pain, the hurt, the anger, the rage-that burns hotter than the fires of hell which hath no fury like mine
All the small pieces that glitter and sparkle; the sharp edges prick my fingers and lay open my hands as I struggle to gather them up and clutch them to my chest like treasure-like gold
Get back!
Get away!
Don't touch them they are mine! ...
