The night has always been a sexy bitch!
As a kid in Central California I would go
out at midnight for a smoke and listen
to the train roll through like a ghost.
In Dallas we drank, smoked, cruised
the neon lit streets in search
of whatever it was we were missing in life.
I’ve always functioned better after the
sun went down and the prying eyes of
the day shift are shut to everything but dreams.                  

Never cared much for the laws of
man or the world they created,
or the gods they created.
I’d rather spend my time day dreaming
in the tall grass on a warm
summer afternoon with a slight breeze blowing
against my skin,
in love with life,
in love with sex and the divinity
of the ever elusive SHE of my dreams.
I’d rather spend my whole life seeking
out the true nature of god then
concern myself with a world that rejected
me out of spite.
