His stare was smug as fuck
Looking me up and down
As if he was appraising my worth
Doing so in flagrant fashion
Confident because he knew what he knew
Knew who and what i was beneath

Even without a poetry site
I'll forever and a day
Continue to write out my rites
And fight my demons
One night at a time
Using insight and foresight
As a tandem to right this warring ship
Cast about turbulent waters
Pledging to become the light borne within
To help guide me back to steady shores
Remembering how bright the sun
Really does shines
Exposing the blight of the soul
Where I take flight
Within the contained knowledge of this self
Tempered with a sage's wisdom
Ascending new hieghts
Running freely...

I'm up late at night again
Scouring poetry
Getting moist to the words
Of a man i'll never meet
Searching for some form of connectivity
Because real life ain't as fanciful nor eventful
So i imagine I'm the object of his desire
Placing myself between he and whoever
The poem was meant for
Spread my legs and cream to his intent
Just like an old school R&B joint
Not giving a damn
That a song is just a fucking song

It's only the after effect...

Same Story...Ad Nauseam
Love never promised any guarantees
Yet we consistently sign that contract don't we?
Hoping..praying for a different outcome
Something not like before
Something real
Tangible...long lasting
And here we are
Always finding ourselves fasting
Not by choice..but by default
Taking unwanted love breaks
Trying to shake the blues
And the feeling of being used
Excusing our own faults
Blind to our own hand
In the making of our self imposed
Purgatory
Because we loved so hard, right?

Beyond imagination
Watched the exuding of the inevitable Sun
Spoken in varied undertones
Feeling the overtures of Spirited
One day at a time
One damn battle at a time
Educated this polar opposite
Intrinsically
Walls were broken down
Crashed landed upon generational delusions
Of two dimensional conditioning
Tore through the precepts
Of fabled ideologies
Where Love at last humbled
The last vestige of the Resistance

Victorious in defeat ...
