March Visual Poetry Competition
poetry 3690
This month's competition is to create a visual poem about horses. Whether you're a 'horse person' or not, the challenge is to celebrate these powerful and majestic creatures and all they have done for mankind. You don't have to write a poem specifically about horses; it could be about something completely different, but using metaphors related to them.

Strength
poetry 3685
This is a quote I wrote I help others with. The picture I took outside my house the beautiful tree thought it fit. If you are struggling you can use it to help, everyone needs something to help them and I help with my powerful words.

The Storm
poetry 3670
I captured the beauty of destruction In Saskatchewan, then I redrew it, scanned in my computer, added more effects using a program with highlighting and burning, then added my poem. if you look closely behind the last section of words I focused in a ghost-like figure. Trying to get over my fear of storms... didn't work though...

A JOURNEY
poetry 3665
I created this image using the open source software Paint.net, multiplying the layers of several photos I had taken and then added the text layer, blurring it back to soften the edges. Does anyone else here use Paint.net?

Scars
poetry 3559
Every day it's the same routine
put on a smile that you don't mean
you don't want them to know...
you hear the hurtful things they say
when your back is turned the other way
and you start to feel cold...
you've got demons swarming in your mind
that you're struggling to keep inside
and you're losing sleep...
their voices haunt you in the dark
with hurtful words and sharp remarks
never fail to cut you deep...
cuz you could break a million bones
or spend your entire life alone
and they could stab you with a knife...
but none of these could compare
to a broken heart you can't repair
and the things that scar you for life...

cuz some things scar you for life

The Paradox of Love

My mind plays tricks
On this love i have kept
A susurous wimper
came along with its fears
Like a withered leaf
Falling from a tree
Our love died down
As i yearn to be free.

My heart beats
in a cleaŕ interlude
As our meandering journey
Have come to its close
Growth receeds
Whilst it reckons a hope
This flame died down
And emptiness became our very prologue

Your serpentine embrace
I will surely hold
Unto this mind where i kept you most
I shall love you within this reel
Till all feelings subside
And i became free
From the shackles of your love
That burried me.
