Browsing the forums. This thread caught my eye again and it made interesting reading.
I’ve been thinking lately that maybe I don’t really seem to pay much attention to the EC warnings. Then I remembered I was a paid member, and the warnings are turned off...
Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is that I turned them off because if I see a poem with an EC warning, I would probably be less likely to read it because it’s 9 times out of 10 more likely to be complete and utter twaddle in terms of poetics. Most EC poems on here are what I affectionately call “pump ‘n’ dump” nonsense.
I guess I just don’t want the judgement to be made for me in terms of the flagging (and this is just personal preference of course in the spirit of discussion. I totally understand it serves a purpose with protecting younger members etc etc)
I guess they say don’t judge a book by its cover, and an EC warning (for me) is kinda the cover.
