Was just wondering if anyone else would benefit from a poetry forum for sad poems?... Things shadowy, but not truly dark. Death or loneliness.

There should be one for sad poems I really don't like posting my sad poems under dark poems when they are just about being depressed or lonely

Absolutely. And, then, mayhap, love poems could have an unbroken heart. I have no idea why, but that broken heart irks me a great deal. :-p

I agree with Savaja. There needs to be a category that celebrates love and not just the loss thereof.

I think the fruit and veg should be kept in the frozen fish section - and we should file wines and spirits under hygiene products...

heh heh, what's veg ? if its not a new kind of chips then you can have them
I agree 'bout the love poems. I wonder if it would be possible to choose from a full heart or a broken heart before clicking on publish. I know its semantics but fuck it, don't ask don't get innit

dartford...you've given me a good laugh to start my day....thank you
agree with Savaja and others re love poems, i.e. no more broken heart icon it would be good to have a heading just for sad poems which are not necessarily dark...

Seeing as we have upbeat, might as well have sad or downbeat. That then frees up the Love category to be more along the lines of upbeat love, rather than the 'trials and pains of love' which is rather lopsided in its perception. Might need to work on the word though, 'sad' seems a bit too derpy, 'unhappiness' or 'despair' has more of the DU edge to it.

From what I have seen here I totally agree! A lot of my poems go into Self Poems, as I don't want to put them into the Darh category.

Yup, both categories make sense. Maybe they thought that nobody on deep underground poetry would want to post a happy love poem. It makes me sad to have to label my happy love poems with a broken heart, even if all my loves have ended up with a broken heart. Seems like a bad omen...

How about the subject of the death of a loved one whom you treated wrong?

Mistress of the Underground
Many categories have been suggested over the years, and like this one, often they are good ideas. However, I'm not planning any changes to the categories at the moment as there's a much bigger project in the pipeline related to keyword tagging poems.
Also, there's a problem in that most people post poems in order for them to be read. People may post to a "sad" category, but would people seek that category out to read from?
