Time for another entry here folks, and this one comes in the form of an FYI Service Announcement:
There's been a few goings on around here lately, that I thought needed a bit of addressing.
First, private messages; they are just that--"Private", and their contents should not be copy/pasted in the forums for all to see, unless the recipient has specifically given permission to do so. Why? Because it's a breach of trust, that's why, and it's wrong.
Second, starting forum threads about other people and/or mentioning your fellow DUP members in a derogatory way in threads; yes, I realize that 5th grade is when all the mean-girls and mean-boys rear their heads to make life miserable for other classmates, but "here" isn't 5th grade. With the exception of some ultra-young members here, most should really be at the point in their lives where they've moved beyond such behavior, and should be able to see that yes, the pen really is mightier than the sword. What you write about others, really can hurt them and cause some damage, so put yourself in their shoes and think of how it feels to be on the receiving end. You may not know entirely what's going on in people's lives outside of DUP, so take that into consideration.
Third, undermining...... and by that, I mean let others think for themselves, make their own decisions and form their own opinions, unless they've specifically asked for your advice in some area. Don't go planting ideas in their heads, that this member is a jerk, that member should be deleted in your opinion, etc. Take it to the mods if you are having an issue with someone here, rather than creating division among the members. That's not to say that you can't offer advice to others, but ultimately, leave it up to them to decide how they want to view things, interact with another member, handle a situation, etc. Your moderation team can be found here:
