This thread serves as a chronological summary of major website updates and new feature launches.
8th November 2011 - Drafts
All poems that go as far as the "preview" stage automatically get saved to your drafts. Poems are automatically deleted from your drafts when you submit them. There is also an option on the preview screen to save a poem to your drafts rather than publish it immediately. You can access your drafts via your "My Poems" page.
22nd October 2011 - Poets
Browse DU Members via the "Poets" page.
September 2011 - Recommendations
Members are now provided with personalised recommendations; a list of suggested reading and members with similar tastes.
14th August 2011 - Alphabetical Poem List
Members can find an alphabetically ordered list of poems they have submit on their "My Poems" page.
7th August 2011 - Trophies
Receive awards for winning competitions, completing poem reading challenges or being one of a previous months "top-critiquers" (leaving lots of quality feedback on other members' submissions). The number of awards a member has is displayed on their profile and next to their forum posts.
14th July 2011 - DU Forums Renovation
The forums have been updated so they run faster and are more user-friendly. Competitions now have their own page and an automated system for awarding trophies. Moderators have a range of new tools to help run the forums.
12th March 2011 - Block Members
You can now block a member (via a link on their profile). For more information click here: http://deepundergroundpoetry.com/blockuser/
25th February 2011 - Like
Let an author know you thought their poem was good by clicking the "like this?" link below the poem. Your preferences also help provide you with personalised recommendations of poems which you may enjoy reading.
28th January 2011 - Spoken Word Categories
There are now four spoken word categories (audio, video, slam and songs).
27th January 2011 - Visual Poetry
DU Poetry now accepts poems in the form of graphics and word art. Choosing the "visual poem" option when uploading an image to your submission means it replaces the text on the page (note: you should still enter the text version of your poem, so that it may be included in keyword searches).
24th January 2011 - Avatar Crop Tool
You can now crop your avatar image using the tool provided on the image upload page (accessible via your "My Profile" page).
11th July 2010 - Poem Sorting Update
Replaced the old poem filtering options in favour of a new range of fairer and more interesting choices.
11th July 2010 - Poem Comment Thumbs Up
Helpful, useful and detailed critique can be given a "thumbs up" by other members. Along with making good comments stand out, these ratings go towards deciding who our "top critiquers" are.
11th July 2010 - Follow / Subscribe to Poets
If you like the work of another member, you can "follow" them. This means you will receive an update in your "My Updates" page each time they publish a poem, or add a video to an existing poem.
11th July 2010 - Commenting Preference
Choose whether or not you want to accept comments on your poems. You can also choose to request either "friendly feedback" or "honest criticism".
11th July 2010 - Time Zone Detection
DU Poetry now automatically detects your timezone to show you accurate regional dates and times.
19th March 2010 - Spoken Word
You can now add an image or YouTube video to each of your poems. The Spoken Word page showcases poems with videos.

Members are now provided with chronological updates of when another member comments on one of their poems. (Update: this page now also shows information about your "followed" poets, any awards you have received, along with various other useful bits of information).
8th February 2010 - Edit Poems & Comments
Members can now edit, move and delete their poems and edit or delete poem comments.
13th January 2010 - Extreme Content Warning
A warning page is displayed for poems considered to include "extreme content" (very adult themes).
9th January 2010 - Multi-delete PMs
Check boxes added alongside your inbox messages so you can delete or move multiple messages more quickly.
30th December 2009 - Reading List
You can now add your favorite poems to a personal reading list. Your reading list is shown on your profile and also used to help recommend similar poems you may enjoy reading.
6th December 2009 - More Poem Filtering
Sorting options now implemented when viewing poems written by a particular member, or viewing your own poems via the "My Poems" page.
6th December 2009 - Stats
Your "My Profile" page is now home to lots of statistics about your DU Poetry account. For example, the number of likes and reading list entries you've given and received.
15th November 2009 - More Categories
Four new categories (Beliefs, Prose fiction, Prose non-fiction and Lyrics). Plus category icons re-designed.
6th November 2009 - ReCaptcha
Captcha added to registration screen to prevent spam robots from joining.
3rd October 2009 - Poem Sorting
New ways to filter which poems are displayed; check out the drop down list on the top right of poem listings.
