Seems custom avatars are disappearing from comments on poems, defaulting to the base avatar.

Yes

i figured it was a server gig like i've seen in the past.

Early this morning i got in but then unable to access some areas of the site, as well.

Yes...me too...I've been having trouble getting in on occasion and certain sites disappear as well, but also annoying is the avatars missing and going back to default...that's the one that unnerves me the most... it feels like my friends are disappearing
up the chimney...and down the drain... Ely
PS...I don't suppose anyone is going to fix that...are they? I hope

i thought it was fixed yesterday and in the middle of chatting with Minxy
we had to move our convo to FB because i got frozen out again and it was like that the whole evening for me and so i guess we both needed a good night's sleep.

The glitch mentioned in this thread, and other short outages over the last week have been down to some optimisations I've been doing on the site to get everything running faster (for example, changing the way profile images are fetched). Sorry for the inconvenience, all should be good now though, hurray!

In future, please report technical issues via DU Questions because I will see them faster, thanks.
