When Black Means Gold (Hail, Simone)
A piece written in celebration of Simone Biles
Subdued greatness awaiting, in her poise.
Siloed stillness, that shuts out all the noise.
She takes a breath, & moves in strides.
Arms spreading like dusk, fists pumping, at her sides.
Her ignited frame begins, in it's rise,
An ecliptic moon, over Paris skies.
Her every movement, a sudden of flips.
We witness the beauty of La Chapelle's eclipse.
Up there, she dances quick, in peerless flight.
Elegance that spins, skin like the night.
She comes back down, in a meteoric landing.
A smile, & a grace, yet withstanding.
At once, she is both calm, & cyclone.
A pride to her Country, we hail Simone.
She is history, living, & to be told.
She is the epitome of, when black means gold.

You think small. She is the most perfect female on the planet, 6 foot and an unstoppable force of nature. I am a lowly marathon runner and just under six feet. (But I have a swimmers build — broad shoulders and a really long torso.)
Our spawn would take over the world.
This is the only time in my life I wish I had dick and balls. (Sigh)
Also the rest of Olympics is super fun. Snoop Dog is my hero.

In local news, North Carolina's Kaylyn Brown sealed the deal for the United States and sets a NEW WORLD RECORD in the mixed 4x400m relay. It was exciting watching a home state girl win.
