Searching for a Santorini legend

I recently visited Greece and hopped Islands in Santorini. I took a random island cruise that took us to neighboring islands and the host spoke of a legend that struck me hard. It spoke of a woman who was beautiful. she could not live a normal life. She was constantly accosted and she struck the fancy of a God that wanted her. To escape, she fled to one of the Greek Islands to live in solitude for the rest of her days, away from the eyes of anyone who may wish to claim her. I need to know her name so I can actually look into the legend, not the cruise boat version of it. I've searched elsewhere to no avail. The story may be entirely wrong since the orator was of unknkwn origin, so I need to know if this is something only locals know or if it's an actual, buried truth (if only just a little true). Anything resembling this story would do, I just wish there wasn't "free" drinks at the end of the cruise -_- I would have remembered that name.
