For those of you who have read my writing you will know by now that I am a dedicated follower of nature based practice such as shamanism and other forms of healing/Norse magic.  I have been walking this path for a long time, perhaps even since birth. THIS POST is not about myself though it is about a free online event taking place on Saturday by Sandra Ingerman.
She has been a very important example for me and one o f  my own shamanic teachers has worked with Sandra personally.

info on the event from the page by Sandra

Shamanic practice and ceremony can be very beneficial. It is a very important practice to keep alive

I hope you will join me in a free experiential session on Saturday July 9th at 10:00 am Mountain Daylight time that will help you to find some guidance from a helping spirit, ancestor, religious figure, mystical being, nature being, element, angel, or one of the many ways our helping spirits show up.

I will guide those who have never journeyed before and will add some more instructions for those of you who have been practicing shamanic journeying so this experience is new for you too.

I have witnessed so much over 40 years of how the power of shamanism and the helping spirits can step in when things look so bleak. This is when the helping spirits show up and engage with us with love, compassion, healing, and the strength to follow our true desire to either do your shamanic work and allow the energy created to be heal the collective by your light filled presence, or to bring spiritual practices into your social or political activism work in a way that brings the community together working with the skills we were born with, but might have forgotten due to how society shaped us.

It is time to stand up and follow our spirit and do our work to help all of life continue in a good way.

This is a deep time of opportunity where we have a window to create true change for ourselves and the world around us.

My favorite line these days is “the world seems much smaller when we grow from within”.

During our journey/ceremony you will get to ask for a healing, ask a helping spirit for a perspective you can hold that allows you to receive a deeper understanding to the mysteries of this time, and ask for practical steps you can take whether it is doing your work in solitude or in community. We want to gain specific clarity on the most important action and area you can focus on right now to maximize your contribution.

And we will end with the community coming together to bless each other and the collective and radiate our light within and without.

There will be lots of drumming and rattling and singing. If you have an instrument you want to use to join me please feel free to have it ready. Again I will be drumming and guiding our journey. So essentially you just need to show up this Saturday with an open heart.

Reserve your spot for this Saturday at:

https://shiftnetwork.isrefer.com/go/ccSS/ingerman/

NOTE if you register you will get an email and shortly before the event a reminder. You can join even if only you wish to listen. I can assure you this event does not have anything to do with magic, it is about HEALING.
If you can not join yourself you can leave your name here in this thread, just write yes I am in or something like that, I can gather the names  and ask for an intent for you. Of course I can only do this if you agree on this.
You can also contact me through pm.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS THREAD for any other than RESPECTFUL communication on this topic. Thank you

Thanks for sharing.

I might check it out… any excuse to get the drum out to be fair. I use her throughout the eight sabbats of the year and any other occasion that requires.

I should really show you my drum sometime. I birthed it in ceremony myself at a Shamanic day workshop, stretched the skin, wrote intentions on the hoop, crafted the handle. Meeting the spirit of the drum was a wonderful experience. Turns out my spirit animal is an extremely mischievous chipmunk. The lady leading our journey session said I grinned like a child throughout. 😂

Shamanism isn’t my main path, but I have a huge amount of respect for it and feel there’s much to learn there. I’ve had some great conversations with Shamanic practitioners.

Seek teachings everywhere. ✌🏻

It is an honor and pleasure to see a reply by a true Druidess
You may feel free to share in this thread what ever you wish to share about your own personal path or if you would have any suggestions for any free sources,  And I would love to see your drum!!!!

This can be a sharing thread for those of you who wish to share. It can be a sacred space within DU,

So my drum is made of stag skin, which I chose as a representation of this land, and being of this land.

On the handle, a lot of people put crystals and stuff, but I have the tip of my horn. Another project saw me making a ritual horn (that makes noise and shakes the ground for miles - I also made all the leather straps for it and hand burned runes into it to spell out a particular intent) and this was the tip of the horn that was cut off to make the mouthpiece. I thought it was entirely appropriate to weave those two ritual items together on a personal level.

The little silver symbol is Ogham — something that is particularly important to my DruidCraft path. It is the symbol of Nuin, the ash tree, which has become sacred to my journey and is also my Celtic tree associated with my birthday.

The ash tree represents the beginning and the end of peace in a metaphorical way, and that’s the energy I wanted to put into this drum, this idea of liminal balance. No light without dark. No good without bad. It’s a universal truth.

I won’t tell you the name of the drum, because that’s between me and the drum. But yeah… she’s beautiful. And I love working with her.

Amazingly beautiful Missy! You are a crafts woman, very interesting to read some more about your path and the symbols you have chosen and why.
I understand that you share only some of it as each practitioner has their own personal parts of their path that is only shared with the path or with the sources. Or maybe with a small circle of other practitioners.

My drum is plain, of Goat skin, I have several drum sticks but plan on making some of my own. My path is a mix, I believe that the base of the spine of my tree  is Seidr. I know this is a bit of a hidden aspect of natural paths, it is considered as a branch of magic. I do not see a need to say something is either dark or light as I believe any path holds all aspects of both dark and light.

In Norway, especially the north of Norway there is a blooming spring well consisting of practitioners of Shamanism, old crafts, and Seid, they see themselves as the Seid folk.  The Seid folk work in harmony with nature and nature spirits. They are the keepers and seers of Nature.

There is a wider spread belief that Shamanism really is an ALL matter or ALL source, I share the belief that Seid is part of Shamanism. I see it as such as that one can choose which spirits to work with. I know that Seid is often referred to as witchcraft but I do not see it as such, I see it all as a NATURE based path of living and learning.

My celtic tree is Vine btw

Fascinating.

Yeah I’m not really one path either, which is why I say DruidCraft. Quintessentially Druidic, but undeniably with elements of green witchcraft / hedge witchery. I don’t really feel the need to try and tie it down. As I said before… seek teachings everywhere 😂

My god is this land, and that’s all that matters, really. It’s fluid. It moves with the seasons. Everything really.

Drums are so personal so it’s always interesting to read other people’s experiences with theirs. All I knew is I didn’t want one unless I had made it myself. It was a very special experience

Yes I like to learn new things, it is always fun and if you subscribe to blogs or newsletters you usually get an invite to free events. I can write a whole ABC on it, and yes Nature, the lands are the gods and godesses

Imelda Almqvist is a Dutch woman who lives in Sweden/UK. She is also one of the few who teaches classes on SEIDR. You have to click away the banner but the site is very very rich in ALL kinds of background info.

A great site on runes that I can recommend , it really is a HUGE base of info and wise knowledge by Magin Rose.
I think she is originally from the UK, the courses are very expensive but the info is free, she does offer free classes sometimes. Really an amazing site!!!!

…Would it be ok to ask here what people’s book recommendations are regarding their paths?

(If you don’t feel it’s appropriate R, let me know and I will remove the post)

I feel like there’s a tremendous knowledge pool in books, and often, many are hidden away that we just don’t know about.

I know an awful lot about herbs and plants and forage a lot from nature both for food and medicine.

I’ve just finished up Botanical curses and poisons: the shadow lives of plants and folk magic and healing: an unusual history of everyday plants both by Fez Inkwright. Would highly recommend to anybody interested in furthering their natural knowledge.

Sounds very interesting, I have added Books in the title of this thread, my idea is a sharing pool of sources. ANYTHING you feel like sharing or speaking about, your knowledge of herbs, recipes or anything that you think can be interesting.

A book on the topic of runes that I could recommend is WILD SOUL RUNES by LARA VESTA but its not really a book that explains a lot. It is a workbook for people who have worked with the runes. Its also about the sacred feminine as this is an interest field of mine. Its a book that goes very deep into your own soul path

Wild Soul Runes is a guided ritual practice to build relationship with all thirty-three runes.

Using inquiry, original translations alongside the traditional rune poems and sacred art, Wild Soul Runes invites readers to develop their own wisdom connection with the runes through practice. This is an exploration for both seasoned rune practitioners and those new to the runes.

Wild Soul Runes introduces the reader to the history of the runes, both in myth and through the connection with Old European archaeological findings.  This history offers evidence for the idea that the runes have a feminine origin, coming from the well of the Norns, the female triple giantesses who represent the fates in Norse myth.  With sections on sacred art integration, wyrd divination and ancestral connection, Wild Soul Runes is a journey, shared.
