[ Growing Pains ]

I remember you
starting life
as a submissive bomb-shell and
our first multi-colored collaboration.
Look at you now
booked, grown, and poetic-genius
A quilled-ink perfection.

[regarding a heated debate on censorship with the very powers in the threadlines of this, our Underground, several years ago. Decoded, the poem spells GATOR PENIS, where Ray had strong feelings about a gator clit, I still believe he would appreciate this gesture. Because of the outcome of said debate, I will not be posting a photo of an alligator penis.]

(Edited because the debate was very specifically regarding an alligator's clitoris.)

ivy walls

she spoke like clay
building secret gardens
in soft weighted words

then warmed them

so they would both solidify
and grow

if there ever were an Aragorn of the underground

his honours are held
in high archives
& smoked under hooded cloak
in corners of this
raucous establishment
full of hairy hobbits
and elven heads
up elven arses

Those That Stoked The Coals

Minimalism

reduce, you said
until there’s nothing left

it struck me years later
this was less poetic guidance
and more a mantra for life

[Opheliac]

.

as the credits roll

the ground opened up
somewhere in the midst
of pencil sketches
and stories

pretty sure
that’s how you intended
the accreditation
in your head

[LightBaron]

.

recipe for hedonistic jam

there’s an old cook book
that tells us exactly
how to work with dark fruit:

wrap it in muslin cloth—
squeeze poetry from pulp
into a dish to die for

[Jestalessa]

.

Yoordjeele’s soonee-in munya

in response, dear Aquarius
the stream haunts us still
as we look for one to call
our own

I found a lake, fins,
all my stars

[_feral]

.

firestarter

are you out there still
pissing hot steam
across stone

cats screeching
in the moonlight

God bless
a siren’s call

[Betty]

.

Rosaries

twice a day
sun-drenched
rooibos is sipped
s l o w l y

hot tea
pressed
to lips

Africa
still tastes
like a prayer

[RevolutionAL]

.

flowers grow from bombs

whenever
I hear the phrase
Molotov cocktail

I think of you—

there’s
a compliment
in there

I swear

[Indie]

.

nightly

sometimes
a moor stretches out
in thick undergrowth

bones in wet mud

wolf-snarled
moon songs
in the dark—

she howls in return

Private language of lovers from rustic & rusty beds

Silence changes colour through seasons;
Au’burns autumn
Flames into being,
Dew springs night’s mattress
Where winter lovers breathe stalactite dreams.
Open poppy of red sari -
Summer rages, blazing upwards.

Uma.

Landscape of Journey Towards Being

We are libraries of other people,
Forefather index of smoky trails:
Along roads where poet shoes
Walk towards sinking light.
Consonants > constellations
In creation, nothing can ever be lost.

Daniel C.

Johnny O’Clock

The blind old man’s accordion is torn
As he seems to play a crumpled map:
Contours of open thighs dripping Elvis tears.
Wounds weep whiskey,
Rain along final train platform.

John Feddeler.

it's really difficult to be on either side of these gorgeous little bombs. I've also had too many influences, but i'm not ready to stop, so....
