Forthcoming challenge
I’ve travelled on this lonely road
For pleasure set with punishment
Trapped where, time ever corrodes.
Days of vigils, contained intent
Where comes the inner strength?
For its labour bears a weight
Its unrelenting, as a barbed wire fence
The pen, to grasp its power subjugates
Drain and freeze, leave incomplete
A labour set with bars
words to crack, a stony faced relief
Prisoner and warder, the door ajar
To tread that path is hard
seems an unending trek
comes self esteem, the inward bard
the minds unrest, is ever vexed
Just for the few to grasp the nettle
To yourselves be kind and gentle

But this is hilarious, Waffle! And no soufflé about that. Things are beginning to taste delicious: I like hilarious and delicious in a truly tasteful vocabulary blend.
