So much appreciation to Ahavati and all the helpers on this thing, and all the poets whose poetry I will be reading in the coming days. This was again the fun, challenging poetic exercise I've come to expect, and once again I feel I am emerging a stronger poet for it.

I did minor revisions on 5 or 6 of them in my personal saves but my #13 was the biggest revision.  I figure I'd share it here.

Original Post:

Day Thirteen Poetry

As my pen bleeds my fingers smear the ink.
Thinking that the dry spell is broken,
spoken words take form on the blank page.
Engaging into battle with me in 3D.
Being impossible as we do not see eye to eye.
Denying me the right to express my heart and soul.
Control of myself has been lost.
Tossed along the way with my inspiration.

Revision:

Bargaining

As I watch my pen bleed
my fingers smear the ink.

Lost as I unleash this necessary deed.

Thinking that the dry spell is broken,
abruptly these words begin to heed.

Spoken words take a form
on this blank page.

My hand writes the brainstorm.

Engaging these words to battle in 3D,
they decide to surround and swarm.
Being impossible
as we do not see eye to eye.

Crafting a poem does feel possible.

Do not deny me the right to express
a piece with my heart and soul.

Allow me to confess.

Control of myself has been lost.

Depressed as I have been
tossed along the way with no inspiration.

That's what I'm talking about! If not happy with their entries, NaPoets now have 30 pieces of poetry they can edit in such a way!

Thank you, Team NaPo for all that you do... I can't imagine having any extra tasks on top of just writing every day - that was enough of a struggle! And thanks to all the participants too - you all kept me motivated & encouraged. Glad I did this again; it always reminds me that yes, I can write poetry about almost any topic in a pinch. 😆 I'm also glad it's over so I can resume a healthier sleep schedule!!
I will slowly catch up with reading & commenting & responding....

So, it has been the most productive day! Team NaPo! your NaPo'23 Group is ready! Those who are interested in being a Team NaPo'23 member, we'll be in touch soon! Entrants, your trophies should be awarded soon!

Also, when delivering the confirmed trophy recipients to Webmiss today, it struck me that this may be the first year that we have never lost anyone between day one and thirty! I'll have to confirm that, but it seems that every year we lose at least one or two! Well done, Entrants! That's how to stay the course!

I'll be joining next year.

I was going to keep writing each day, but have a big fundraiser going on at the moment (as per usual) so got distracted!

We love all these testimonies, guys! And appreciate you taking the time to share them. YOU are why NaPo is the largest and most successful consecutive event in DU History! Just think, YOU are a part of that! Heck, YOU created it! xo
