H.P. Lovecraft, in particular I think the "Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath". Those lands in that story sound very colorful, strange, and beautiful at times. Great for exploring! I have experience with dream walking too, so I feel at home in such places. Of course, I'd take you with me, my Kara!

Regular car. I don't trust current technology enough, especially on Australian roads. Kangaroos confuse the sensors.
