OOB is when a planet ( or luminary ) moves far enough from the ecliptic ( the circle of orbit ), it begins to produce some very curious effects. Of all the planets, it is said the Moon is most dramatic when OOB. And, of all the astronomical notations basically ignored in modern astrological practice, an OOB Moon is one of the most astonishing in its repercussions.

OOB planets can go one of two ways: firstly, they can produce exceptional creativity exceeding the potential of expectations; secondly, they can be erratically unpredictable and go to extremes that can detrimentally affect others, including themselves.  

An OOB Moon is a luminary of emotions and instincts which will provoke intrigue of the unknown. We should guard against becoming too indistinct or far-fetched.  We may feel somewhat disconnected, as though we are on the periphery of whatever is occurring around us. We may even feel separated from ourselves and experience an ungrounded sense of stability. Awareness that the Moon is OOB will help with this energy.  

OOB planets and those who have them in their natal charts can be unpredictable; however, the energy does not necessarily manifest in a negative way. Some of the most gifted individuals have one or more OOB natal positions. Albert Einstein is just one example. Elvis Pressly and Judy Garland were also examples that showed positive aspects that excelled in acting and singing, and negative, leading them to early deaths from addiction.

It's important to know if we have any OOB planets, and in what sign/house they reside to avoid any negative tendencies that can easily suck us into lower-vibrational energy.

First planetary transit of the day: Mercury transited from studious Capricorn into the Visionary, Aquarius @ 12:10 AM this morning.

Mercury is exalted in Aquarius, thus embodies out-of-the-box, innovative thinking. Mercury represents intellect and avenues of expression, whereas Aquarius represents imaginative thinking outside of the box. This will spark an insatiable desire for knowledge and connection with like-minded. We can expect our desire for knowledge to increase while we open to new concepts and more progressive ways of being.

Being exalted in this Airy sign, the Messenger of the Gods feels completely relaxed and enabled as himself.  Expression should be harmonious, as complementary forces are increased and the virtues magnified.

The only caveat is Aquarian's Fixed quality, which could add a bit of an obstinate stance.  The conjunction between Mercury and Pluto in the 1st house will bring a burst of regenerative energy and determination to move forward. This could be a new beginning or fresh start to an old project we didn't have the insight to complete.

It's a perfect time for deep reflection and probing possibilities. There may be something under the surface that we missed the first time around that will become more apparent.

The first house is a house of identity and life. It's also representative of our Ascendant. It reveals our personality and natural disposition. Here our tendencies and individual expression is seen. It's filled with the energy of new beginnings.

Pallas Mythology & Spiritual Significance:

Pallas is the goddess of wisdom and self-defense in charge of defending herself and those in her care; thus, she is never the aggressor. Myth says she sprang fully formed and armed from the head of her father, the king of heaven. Her symbol is the wise owl.

She is also known as an artisan connected to weaving due to her love of fabric and skill with a needle and thread. She was known to create and inspire patterns of lasting beauty. This metaphor carries over into our life patterns and linked ideas.

Known as the warrior queen and the philosopher, she most resonates with the sector in our charts that relates to our philosophical take on the world, since we are all philosophers, even if we are not aware of it. Whenever we deduct a theory involving how we desire to live our lives, we are exercising our philosophical nature. This is the influence of Pallas.

Being the goddess of wisdom and wise strategy, Pallas is right at home in the higher thinking octave of Sagittarius, whose natural home is the 9th House, a house of aspiration and life, ruled by benevolent Jupiter, the planet of expansion and protection.

This transit highlights the higher mind and principles of Sagittarius: Philosophy and intellect. Despite being in our heads, per se, doesn't mean we're diplomatic in our speech. On the contrary, we can become very direct, tactless, even, which can be very off-putting to others. Regardless, major life decisions are deeply analyzed prior to making them.

Moon entered its detriment in Capricorn @ 7:09 AM EST:

When a planet is in the opposite sign it rules ( in this case, Cancer ), it is considered a detrimental placement. This means it will not operate at full power and takes on more of the sign's than the planet's coloration.

You can compare a detriment to visiting another's home or establishment where you are forced to conform to their rules and regulations.

I have this Lunar position in my natal chart and used to resent it, as it's one of the most difficult placements; however, I have come to deeply appreciate the lessons of this aspect, as Capricorn is scrupulous, responsible, economical, and very hardworking. Not only that, I happen to love my work, and that truly makes all the difference.

This aspect enables me to possess a laser focus on business, whereas an alternate placement may have spent most of my time daydreaming.

Ceres enters Capricorn @ 6:09 AM, 1st house, in the morning. The mass movement toward Air continues.

Mythology:

The Roman Goddess Ceres' origins are in the Greek Goddess of the Earth, Demeter, who ruled agriculture, fertility, and had power over the cycles of life and death. She is known as the Archetype of Mother Earth, representing provision and nourishment. The myth is a metaphor for nurturing and reflects how we care not just about others, but ourselves as well. Nurturing ourselves enables us to reach our full potential so that we may authentically nurture others.

The seasons are attributed to her because her daughter, Persephone, Goddess of Vegetation, was kidnapped by Hades to co-rule the Underworld, at which time Demeter refused to allow any to growth until she found her daughter. The fields withered and humans starved so the Gods intervened. Hades was forced to return Persephone to Demeter by the Roman God Zeus ( Greek God Jupiter ), whereas they made a pact that Persephone, now Queen of the Underworld, would only spend half the year with her mother, and the other half with her husband.

Ceres in Astrology:

While Ceres does point to our wellbeing and selfcare, its placement can also indicate past traumas, particularly childhood vulnerabilities and struggle. A well-placed Ceres would indicate a parent who is balanced, loving and nurturing whose children grow up to be independent and self-sufficient adults. A poorly placed Ceres in your natal chart could indicate abandonment issues, bouts of melancholy, and eating disorders, and could indicate an over-bearing parent who attempts to control their children to the point that the children become co-dependent.

Capricorn:

Vesta ( Hestia ) is the guardian of the hearth and home, the goddess who tends the eternal flame, the one that keeps the household alive, safe and well. She represents the divine representation of the flame inside us, the one that gives us our spark of life.

She enables us to understand the way we feel towards our home, and our family. Beyond that, she is the inspiration inside us that keeps us going. She is the flame of our ambitions, and our desire to keep surviving in a difficult world. She is the joy we feel when we accomplish a goal or make our dreams realities.

A New Moon crosses between the Sun and the Earth, which is why they are not visible.  Super new moons are exactly the same, except that it's positioned at its closest point to the Earth, also called perigee.

Aquarius embodies independence, individualism, imagination, progressive, artistic, and scientific just to name a few. This lunation brings out the rebel and warrior within us. We're ready to make our mark and for new adventures and experiences that highlight who we truly are to others.

Tonight, I wanted to stress the importance of no rituals, decisions, or planning during the Void of Course ( v/c ) Moon, which took effect this evening @ 5:59 PM, and will last thru Sat morning until 8:42 AM, when the Moon enters Pisces.

All rituals can still be performed after 8:42 AM thru 6:00 PM Saturday, as the Moon will still be in its full phase. And yes, it's still considered the Full Super Moon in Aquarius despite its ingress into Pisces Saturday morning.

The usual axiom for starting things on a v/c Moon is, “Nothing will come of the matter.” Matters will not go as you planned; in fact, most of the time it will end up far worse than you planned. You have been caught blissfully unaware. You’ve missed something or you weren’t paying close enough attention. But you won’t be able to set the situation right at the current time.

Sit still and stay as you are. Take no action at the current time. Wait for the storm to pass over. It is time to be patient and allow matters to settle before beginning anew. Allow this matter to resolve on its own without your help, work, or interference.

Don’t bail anyone out or make loans currently because it is unlikely

you will be repaid. Medical results will probably not be accurate. If your question is about a job or career move, then it’s not the right one. If you apply for a job and get hired, it will not be long-lasting. It’s possible you will get hired and then a more suitable job will come along, and you will have to leave the first one.
