TO JOSH AND CARPE_NOCTEM:
Sorry you haven’t taken my advice to stop embarrassing yourselves.  I’ve read enough of your feces; I gain nothing when I argue with fools.  Ramble on, jealous losers.

if anyone is embarrassing themselves it's you. you've given them a case in point.

It would be a grand world where the words and acctions of the USA didn't cause a ripple effect around the world. not just the USA, but certainly in the last two decades it has been mostly the USA

So to come here and say if you're not from the USA you don't know nothing just shows how ignorant of the rest of the world you are.  Those people you were speaking to know more about the USA than you do

best thing you can do is start taking in what they're saying and educate yourself

but it's whatever

As I've already written, I'm through replying to feces. I gain nothing by besting a fool...and you are clearly one.  If you think that any of you foreigners know more about AMERICAN POLITICS than I do, you're delusional.  Now, go away and stop believing everything you read in Das Kapital. I won't respond again.

Here's the thing you could have chosen to behave as an adult, have an intelligent discussion,  enlightened those of us whom "you" deem ignorant of  "your" America.

Instead however,  you chose the path of ridicule and behaviour of that of a petulant child .

You have highlighted to all those reading your recent comments,  that you are an intellectual retard(used in correct context), who knows absolutely fuck all.

Do carry on Mr know it all regarding things Amurikan,  that education system has clearly done you wonders.

My day is going well.. my marathon training is up to par.. I finally can compete at a half marathon level.. oh, dear this forum is about politics...

Very well then.

I do not understand all these vaccines flooding the countries, is it a connived or is it a hidden political agenda.

It takes me back to Bill Gates and his vaccine agenda… it does make you wonder is his vison coming to past..

I hope everyone’s week is productive is prosperous, and it does not matter, if you are a Democrat Republican, or Liberal politics affects us all, as long as you have the United Nations, and you have armed forces that fight wars, you are in combat with your enemies, or apprehend them as POW. It still dwindles down to the interplay of politics.

In addition, if anyone knows anything about diplomacy from afar politic beliefs will always have a direct bearing on any nation you reside in or represent.

I am not citizen of the United States I have dual citizenship; however, any policy deems importance affect me indirectly as I reside and hold employment here.

That ‘We The People’ is a slogan for which it was written for America by the founding forefathers, and it has been put to test, when America the beautiful has opened its boarders and allowed others to cross until them, which brings me back to say. everyone has a voice, and everyone has an opinion and should be met with an equal liberated response.

Nonetheless, there are too many policies that has been adopted by America that include other to speak in the matter when their country or parliament has a direct bearing of financial gains or losses from trade, lending, tariffs, embargo laws.

Therefore, so when someone does comments about politics, rather they are an American, and it directly affects their country, then yes, it should be recognized with highest regard.

Do we not comment on other countries when they are practicing bad politics, their wars, yes, we do, and that is out of morality and out of concern, right is right and wrong is wrong.

This is just my opinion and serve as no judgment to anyone else’s viewpoints.

I don’t know how this thing works so bear with me. Congrats re your marathon training. I’m 77 yo now but ran the Honolulu marathon in 1980, the day before John Lennon was murdered. I ran 36 miles a week in training for about three months prior to the race which wasn’t enough, but I did manage to finish even after injuring my knee at the eight mile mark. Be sensible, don’t push too hard, but keep at it.

You and I can agree to disagree re vaccinations. Best wishes.

Ahh... thank you, for the encouragement, and well wishes, my love... I fractured my ankle in February, and it has been an uphill battle with the healing process, past the physical therapy and the grueling strength training, core training, I am praying to the Heavens above in the month of November I will be running the New York Marathon for the third year..,

Normally I would run the twenty-six miles, so this is an ultimate challenge for me to participate at the level after an injury such as this.

Have a blessed day and any day going forward, my poet🍑

Back to politics ...wink

The UK is still stained by a heinous imperialist past. Rightly so. It is still happening in 2022. Ireland belongs to the Irish. It could be argued that in 2,000 years of history there will be an occasional fuk-up (though it’s hardly a cognitive argument & it was a little bit more than a fuk-up!)

NATO is too reliant on the U.S of A.  A United States of Europe should have been established decades ago, though the solipsist Brexiteers have thrown a spanner in the works. I’m certainly not anti-English (half-English myself & Dad was kindest & gentlest of men) but do believe in Welsh independence. We even have our own language FFS.

Don’t think this contributes much to thread, but to be candid, not really sure of thread purpose anymore. The world is a village anyways.

There's a saying that applies here, and that is:

"However goes, America, so goes the rest of the world."

We have been leaders in many things over time, and it does trickle into other countries, especially when we have a current government in place that doesn't care about the people and works for themselves , not use.  (Their time is short, though-- I truly believe that).

It indeed does behoove people from other countries , to educate themselves on what happens here, just as we Americans should know what our "leaders" are doing with their hands in the pie of many other countries.

So let's get off the personal attacks, calling each other names, and continue with civilized discussion.  In-fighting amongst ourselves, just helps to accomplish the goals of these power-hungry self appointed officials , who want to see everyone bickering, dividing and destroying .

Start having a listen to the videos found here, by people who have actually done extensive research on what's really going on.  Mel-K is a good one to watch, as is Johnny Enlow and Robin Bullock.

Here is another University pushing segregation. Like Columbia University having 6 graduations separated by skin color, racists, pedophile supporting liberals have brought Jim Crow back. These old school bigots want their slaves back on their plantation. Putting citizens into stalls like cattle is the main plan and shows how evil these liars are....

But I am the naive one, according to biden supporters.

As an old guy with great-grandchildren, I fear for their future. I also am a progressive who currently supports Biden, and the last time I looked in the mirror I didn’t see some crotchety evil guy, but rather someone trying to do the best he can in an increasingly dystopic culture. So what’s up with the name-calling?

The reality is that our brains are hard-wired to run with the first or second plausibly appropriate reaction to whatever threat presents itself. When the lion is in attack mode, our hunter-gather ancestors didn’t have the luxury of examining every available option but had to act immediately. That worked great for much of our shared history, but we are increasingly confronted with situations that don’t fit into a fight-flight binary set of options.

Again, I am not the enemy. The enemy seems to be bogus information churned out by the wealthy and powerful whose short-term agendas have little or nothing to do with what’s good for the masses or the planet. When the body politic loses the ability to discern shite from shinola, we’re in a world of trouble. I fear that’s where we are now.

Read widely. Study how built-in cognitive biases distort the truth.  Try a little kindness, class, and remember to play nice. Reality is that we are all in this together and it’s going to take monumental cooperation to make it through. We remain one miscalculation away from disaster.

I am also mixed-race, a direct descendant of kidnapped Africans who survived the Middle Passage.

Peace.

As it stands all the institutions (semi-parliments) around the UK: Ireland, Scotland and Wales have a majority who want to leave the UK)

In Ireland Sinn Fein (we ourselves) hold a majority both north and south of Ireland. They are the future.

The problem as I see it is the demographics have changed so much a lot of Loyalists are afraid they will be subjected to the same in-humane treatment the minority of Catholics were subjected to for 700 years

see The Kilkenny Statutes

Same year as JFK was killed British paratroopers shot into a civil rights march. at that time they had less rights than blacks in America

They killed 12 innocent people

I'm not anti-brittish, all one side of my family are British and I love them a lot. I am anti-brittsh-army

I've always thought the Welsh were very quiet about their aspiration, nice to see I was wrong

I know Belfast folk, who sit on neither side of the religious divide and they hope to see a United Ireland one day. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but it will happen. Once had misfortune to attend an Old Firm match. The hatred and bile was so tangible could almost taste it. An ex flat mate grew up in a Glaswegian Orange household. Some of the bizarre tales he tells of grown men with one trouser leg rolled up, clutching dusters and crawling around tables. Like some 1970s dodgy porn fetish film.

Just think it’s imperative to keep Welsh language & culture alive. Cymraeg can be traced back thousands of years. Obviously it not salient in the modern world. Have absolutely no desire to drive the English back over the border. Lol. Would be hypocritical anyhows, as I half-English and spent majority of my life in England. It’s the Little Englanders who are detestable, from behind their nicely trimmed hedges and posters of Nigel Farage & The Queen in their windows. I do know some who have done time for Nationalist politics (not bombs or guns, but explosive acts like refusing to pay the Poll Tax or daubing slogans on Estate Agent cars – the revolution starts with a tin of paint!).

Outside the UK, don’t think people realise the importance of the class system here. Most of folk on this site have experienced the 'Empire' in their own countries, but they need to know the elitism and bullying implicit in this heinous imperialism is still alive & kicking.

I not a Trotskyite, Orwellian, Internationalist, Socialist,  Blairite et al, just a working class lad from Wales who believes in justice. Do think it’s best to let this thread die, as everyone is coming from their own perspectives, fuelled by experiences of their own country. That’s fair enough, but politics is an insular issue.

I went to Park Head in 1990, I think it was a semi final between Celtic and Aberdeen. At the time I lived and worked in London. shared a house with a Jungle Jim, a Libyan and and orange Scot

Later we were joined by an Israeli and his  ...partner.

What I witnessed in Glasgow was way above anything I had witnessed in Ireland up until then

I've no problem with Loyalists or prodetants, I the their culture / religion is an important part of Irish history

There are people and parties who need to drag themselves into this century, maybe they'll die out

I think we're at the very latest 10 years from a united Ireland, I hope it comes peacefully but we'll have to wait and see

long time ago in the mid eighties we had a Welsh family stay. my father said the father was a minor on strike and people had got together to give those who wanted it a holiday

I've since learned different

I do note your desire to see this thread die. I think the best thing which could happen is people come from their own experience and perspectives rather than the scripts of some idealogy

we'll have to wait and see
