Will not mean much to many, but radio presenter Janice Long passed away on Xmas Day. She championed the early careers of many independent bands, who would have been deprived of deserved airplay...and prob faded into obscurity.

What genre really catches onto your soul? What's your favorite artists and songs that really say a lot about your life?
I don't follow a genre or particular artists. I listen to music as separate thing. sure, some artists make what I like more frequently, but I don't follow them. I follow whether or not I like the music. the message / lyrics? yeah, that has to be good as well, but isn't the end-all, be-all. Some songs I like don't even have words.
that said: Jazz, Blues, rock (yes alternative, not pop), classical (not opera. usually), folk (even to the extent of Taiko drums), and I'll usually give whatever else a listen too

My favorite music is and always will be R&B. Yes, it's the rhythm and blues for me. I love the sultry sounds, and the riffs to the beat. It slowly takes me away. listening to Monica, and Brandy, and Xscape, with a little Maxwell, and Rydaznrtist. A mixture to say the least. Ginuwine, Next, and Tyrese, just to name a few more. I love the soft, the slow, the upbeat, as long as there is a message of encouragement or inspiration, then I am all for it..
