As soon as Christmas is over I will be pumping out comp prompts and will start working on my little graphics for the March run-up (I had a blast doing those last year).

I truly appreciate your assistance, Eerie. NaPo is simply too big to try and do it all! I appreciate everyone who created graphics and pumped out marketing over the years, and those to come! xo

I probably was the only one asleep by 10 PM!

All the more earlier on Jan 1st to sit down with a cup of coffee and begin  working out the bugs in our latest system meant to keep participants motivated.

Well if it wasn't for the plethora of fireworks going off around me ( seriously, looked like an official event ) I probably would've been. It was beautiful, as is the freaking weather! 70 degrees! Doors and windows open! Now I know what a Christmas in Florida is like! LOL!

My Philippino neighbors in Illinois loved blowing off fireworks on New Years.   I don't know if it was a cultural thing ..?

It's so cold here, the air in my tires went on vacation. I just aired up a flat with an electric pump and extension cord that was as stiff as a metal coat hanger. Gonna be -15° here tonight, -25/30° factoring in wind chill!

I can NOT believe NaPo is almost upon us!

[ NaPo ] Terminatrix April

thumbs her titanium alloy nose
through the chain link fence
reminding us of our limitations

says we are nothing
but imitations of life

It's an irony that leaves
a metallic aftertaste
in my mouth

while hers is razorwired
---a smile long in between such
clenched jaw sound bites as,

Get with the programming

and

Poets are challenged enough
without attempting to write
a poem per day

meant for arrogant asses
in the gulag chugging
their own Kool Aid
glug Glug GLUG style

Nobody
and I mean
NOBODY
is getting out of here
without a noggin batoning
or being tased in the balls

So . . .

we write our arrogant asses off
producing substantial verse
for thirty days straight or
otherwise risk being replaced
by assembly line robots
