while i was attending high school. Every weekend i had to wake super early to take the bus to Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, so i could be there for morning muster.  So i was a sailor - sort of, right?  During the summer i went on cruises on real US Naval ships and did the duties of a sailor -- even suffered through real navy boot camp.

Do You know how to tie more than the common knots that landlubbers know?

Interesting story, yes of course it counts, sailor.  BTW for the landlubbers here, some useless info.  There are only two types of sailors, those who pee in the sink and admit it and those who pee in the sink and never admit it.

No, that's where i failed as a sailor.  i learned the bowline and then forgot it, learned it, forgot it, worked for a year tying hundreds a day and forgot it.  It's called knot blindness.

Have you ever had an out of body experience?

You caused me to smile (thank You) with Your experiences with the knot making.  i don't remember a single knot i was taught and probably why i joined the US Air Force later.

i have had 2 - one when i experienced shortly before my near-body-experience and one while learning how to Lucid dream (which i still don't think i've mastered(

You are most welcome, but dear poet, i am sorry about your loss.

Yes, when i was younger, it happened a few times.  i could feel it coming on, like a paralysis, but if i managed to move my little finger slightly, or toe, it would go away, try to creep back in, go away, etc.  A couple of times i went all the way, it was like sinking into the mattress.  No other hallucinations though, i was fully aware.

i suspect that one key to lucid dreaming is a decision not to be a victim, to take charge of the dreams.

BTW i lived in the Bay Area as a teen, aeons ago, in Martinez.

Have you ever visited Alcatraz?

Have you ever looked up the meaning of your name?
