This is the tearjerker of a fostering story
(in a great way!) - -
*note = The bigger dog in the video (not wearing a cone) The darker brindled pittie mix... That's Denali who was fostered by the same person who ended up keeping her. (now Hugo's foster mom) Denali was severely burned by chemicals they think and left at an abandoned house... her foster mom fell in love with her after a grueling healing process and loads of PT and decided to keep her. She works for this shelter here in my city. I donate to them and try and volunteer when I have time. I don't know the foster mom but I know Denali's story well.
She is all healed now and her forever mom enrolled her in service animal training because she's an amazing Ambassador. Showing that adoption can help save both the animal and the person adopting...
She's graduated and she teaches children about how we should treat animals and about adopting an animal that might be different!
Hers is a story that usually has my teary.....
Until I watched Hugo's...
I fell in love with him, within minutes.

I can't even watch that don't eat meat propaganda
Be a responsible consumer and RESPECT any life given if you're a carnivore. That's my way of looking at it. Buy ONLY Grass fed, raised certified humane, Non GMO fed meat. Period.
It's a little bit more work, a lot more money for now, (because we ALL as consumers don't force companies to change their business practices by collectively taking our consumer dollars elsewhere to companies that DO certification and only raise humanely... but I digress... lol... ) yet the quality is top notch and it's a bazillion times more healthy...
My two cents boils down to,
If you're not vegetarian /vegan, that's ok
No preaching.... you do you!
However if you love animals, do your due diligence and spend your money in a way that ensures you're the healthiest you and that treats animals, that will ultimately end up consumed in some fashion, humanely.
We have the power to force companies to make the changes we demand.
We just need to have the will use it! ✊🏻

I became a vegetarian some thirty+ years ago when a chicken began following me around at a friends home, she kept nuzzling into my leg...at that moment I realized that stopping violence on this planet begins with the violence one can control in their life...how I treat other people around me...and whether I need to have animals killed for my dinner...all the personal warfare...after all, there is not a lot I can do with hatred and violence that is external to my control and there is only so much one can do in other areas as well. I'm not here to save all the animals in the world...just the ones that I choose not eat, that's all.
