First of all, if you lose a leg, yeah, there's probably, as you suggest, a desire to run another marathon. Good for you COLDFUSION, tough cookie. Jumping out of a plane with  a parachute sounds like a fun thrill for a pussy who has never jumped out of a plane without one.
