Such a beautiful photo V. the lighting, the sunset and composition...there is a surreal air about it i really like.

Right? It's like an ancient site, then there's the dog.

I hope you get that one framed, Val.

*That* is so remote and "barely there"

( and no one currently knows how those stone lions got there )

( At least that is what I heard )

BW
I love, love Amboy my old stomping grounds for years
Salt flats, train tracks gypsum, and trilobites,
Native American tools pottery and jasper for arrowheads
I found a spearhead 10years ago dated to be from Calico man it's on loan to USC for their Calico Man studies.

The Foo Dogs are a mystery it is believed they are in place at the boundary line for a piece of property currently for sale
Over the years I have seen the interest increase before falling away today it's on the upswing with new offerings being left
There are different offerings than before once there was spare change and rocks collected now I am seeing  photos, dollar bills, knick knacks, momentos,  fruit, notes, letters, and unfortunately bullet damage most recently

It's a day trip (long) for me that and the Kelso Dunes

can't be the right time of year for bluebells or hyacinths, but the blue flowers remind me of an ancient wood near Lamorna in Cornwall. Great pics.

Wonderful *art* , No Moth...

Otherworldly...

....................................................................

Val...

I can understand the offerings left as collectables...

Just would not interest me for stomping grounds
at all...I am a redwood forest / ocean type gentleman ,
yet the woods Ahavati and No Moth have offered , I
truly love...

Now , the Foo Dogs I truly love...

When / If I ever come into wealth...

I want two that size outside my house...;)

· One of the many ever changing Salt Flats at the National Chloride Company in Amboy, CA. Shot just after sunset using a 4GND filter and processed using a three shot HDR blend. A must place to visit if you live in SoCal

Love that shot. I have ALWAYS been fascinated with salt flats.

Have you ever seen 'Bonneville', Val? It features a scene in the Utah salt flats. It's a great movie ( the reviews aren't so great, but I enjoyed it. Has a good soundtrack too.

I love that place another stomping grounds I used to go to the boardwalk during the day
To the beach in the morning for a shower and spend the night at a safe cubby off Mulhulland Dr
The same CHP would come by consistently to check on me for at least a year

Great image BW just beautiful
