Such a shame Michael passed away. I'm curious as to why they didn't allow Koko to teach another gorilla?
they wanted her to have a baby and she really wanted a baby but she rejected all the males they found. gorillas are t naturally lone parents, they co-parent in family groups, and koko was never given the opportunity to integrate with a natural family group. if she had had a baby she would have definitely taught it as she helped teach michael. im not sure why researchers couldn’t have given her an orphan. i expect they got muddled up on how or if it would have affected their experiment
lol one of those things i found on YouTube and now know an unholy amount about

I just thought it was sad she was the last talking gorilla. There were certainly plenty of orphans, according to sanctuaries. I watch videos of those periodically to see how they're getting along.

Omg . . . I've never heard of such a thing.
One version of a legend from the indigenous tribes of the Northwest says that raven was originally white but was turned black from the smoke when it brought fire to man. In one Native American prophecy it is said that the white raven will return when humans become spiritual again

There are actual white ravens...absolutely...
Then there is the Native American Spirit Tradition
of seeing a black raven turn white , which meant
*you crossed to the Otherside"...
Either way , they are beautiful...

I think I could handle seeing that before crossing over, Blackworld.

I think I've heard that before, but it was a white buffalo in that version.

that’s interesting as i thought they didn’t survive long in the wild as they get bullied out of family groups. is it wild or an escapee?
yes, corvids are racist too
LMAO - I guess that's where the term *Birds of a Feather* comes into play!

Discovered this utterly amazing artist. Nicola Samori. This links to a really interesting article about the artist.

Just wow. This is my favorite; there's just something about it that encapsulates both history and the present.
Thanks for sharing.

Yep....love that too so much. you are right. Says so many things. I love this one too...another sculpture called 'curse' I think...again it touches something buried inside that hardly ever reaches air
