it is more than a wee bit ironic that a thread that is supposed to be about freedom of speech and censorship is littered with restrictions and rules leading to censorship and a lack of freedom of expression.
It seems that DU being an American site fails to follow it's constitution on this subject. In order to speak freely, one must take the risk of creating offense to others. This is the very nature of free speech
As Ahavati thoroughly stated, which "a Moderator" removed, it would behoove people to actually read the Thread Guidelines to see there is only one Rule regarding the posting of poems.

DU an American site?
It’s the great take over lol

I thought it was an Irish site, seeing as we only got one moderator doing anything round here.
That didn’t come from me. Boris said it.

Well this link seems like a good use of the first amendment, since it protects the second...

Got a feeling that was purposely done for a response.
I’m out of the thread anyways.
Too many smart people in here talking about politics, and I’m not on that level lol.

Fuck business , I care little for those
holding onto the top rungs of power...
Business all over the world may collapse ,
the true people , shall remain...and survive...
Biden shall do far better , wirh Kamala's help , as president...
I have zero worries about that...
Business makes the world go round that's the reality they have placed us in
We can't say we care nothing of business and its workings through commerce as we wait on the government to hand out and accept stimulus checks

This is a very interesting article. It was written last month, but we won't have a more accurate assessment of the GDP until the latest study emerges.
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/money/2020/09/coronavirus-how-new-zealand-s-recession-compares-to-the-rest-of-the-world.html
Intersting notations in regards to Sweden:
Sweden
In the June quarter Sweden's GDP fell 8.6 percent, which is its largest drop in modern history.
The fall was significantly worse than the fourth quarter of 2008 during the global financial crisis where it recorded a fall of 3.8 percent.
The country's GDP also fell more than its neighbours which implemented lockdowns to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Economist David Oxley told CNBC that Sweden's sharp GDP contraction "confirms that it has not been immune to COVID, despite the government's well-documented light-touch lockdown". [ . . . ]
In attempting to look at a global perspective of GDP ( Gross Domestic Product ), I've listed the drop per country ( available in this article ):
I've bolded all countries whose GDP was higher than New Zealand's and underlined those countries whose GDP was lower then Sweden's, while subsequently researching whether they imposed lockdowns or not.
It is most interesting to note that those countries whose GDP was significantly lower than Sweden's imposed lockdowns. What is more interesting, is that two of those countries border Sweden ( Finland and Denmark ).
I really want a global perspective:
New Zealand: 12.2 - Lockdown
Sweden 8.6 - Limited Restrictions
Usa - 14.7 - Lockdown
England - 20.4 percent - Lockdown
Austria -10.7 percent - Lockdown
Belgium -12.1 percent (provisional) - Lockdown
Canada -11.5 percent - Lockdown
Chile -13.2 percent - Lockdown
Columbia - 14.9 percent - Lockdown
The Czech Republic -8.7 percent - Lockdown
Denmark -6.9 percent - Lockdown
Estonia -5.6 percent -Lockdown
Finland -4.5 percent - Lockdown
France -13.8 percent - Lockdown
Germany -9.7 percent (provisional) - Lockdown
Greece -14 percent (provisional) - Lockdown
Hungary -14.5 - Lockdown
Iceland -9.1 percent - Limited Restrictions
Japan -7.9 percent -Limited Restrictions
Mexico -17.1 percent - Lockdown
Romania - 12.3 percent - Lockdown
Russia -3.2 percent - Lockdown
Spain - 18.5 percent - Lockdown
South Africa -16.4 percent - Lockdown
China +11.5 percent - Lockdown

If the government did not supply us with checks ,
I would find and create a way to survive...
However , in that case , it would be those with huge
amounts of wealth , who could either share it with
others willingly , or suffer at the hands of the people...
I can easily say I do not care about business...
I said it before , and I shall say it whenever I choose to...
And truthfully , the only businesses I care anything
about , are the food store and the hardware store...
And local brewery...yet if I needed to , I could work out
the reality if they disappeared...
I lived in the desert and woods by myself , no stores ,
for years...just have to shift realities in that situation...

That didn’t come from me. Boris said it.
I sent a strongly worded letter to Boris. he's hell bent on destroying the good Friday agreement. if he insists, we're gonna have to pull out the balaclavas abd dig up the AK's
I'm waiting for a reply..

I do not see where you are thinking I am creating hate , Valeriya...
Not at all...
Are you referring to this ?
*Fuck business , I care little for those
holding onto the top rungs of power*
That is an extremely strong opinion , not hate...
Ah , now I see :
I was not advocating going after the rich , myself...
( though it is an option )
I just know other people would...just reality...

it seems a wee bit ironic that no post was removed - they're all still up there
Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes - the thread remains uncensored,... That's a wee bit ironic too
