So HAPPY to see the NASA worm brought back. It reminds me of the first launch I ever watched.
Featured snippet from the web
In 1974, as part of the Federal Graphics Improvement Program of the National Endowment for the Arts, NASA hired Richard Danne and Bruce Blackburn to design a more modern logo. In 1975, the agency switched to the modernist NASA logotype, nicknamed "the worm", a red, stylized rendering of the letters N-A-S-A.
NASA's chief brought back a famous old 'worm' logo for SpaceX to use during its historic first launch of astronauts. NASA is bringing back its famous red "worm" logo as the agency gears up for SpaceX's first launch of astronauts

I now have a millions times more respect for John Glenn and others going up into space in those tin cans full of toggle switches and glass fuses.

I'm worse than a kid in a candy shop when it comes to the space program. It's where my love for sci-fi was born ( along with "Star Trek" and "Lost in Space" ). I will never, as long as I live, forget the Challenger disaster. I cried like a baby watching that. I honor all the lives that have been lost to technological advances. xo

Lovely story about the recovery of the little flag who made the journey in 2011.
Before SpaceX can 'capture the flag,' an astronaut had to find it

I have no idea why I am so emotional about all of this. It's just a wonderful, historic event that I've had the honor of living through and sharing with my grandprecious.

It's the Circle of Life. He is going to walk away from this with fond memories, same as you.
Plus you know he may actually travel into space some day - it's that much of a reality ahead in the next 20 years.
And it's like watching somewhat of a prequel to MARS on Netflix!

Yes! OMG! I had forgotten about that! I wish they'd hurry with the next season already!
