Washington, 6/1/20

What numbness will I be
when angry swelling subsides?
I cannot grieve for the sting;
I cannot raise my tongue in hopeful song—

My sweat is a parted sea parody:
Moses crossing, unpursued
in great self-symbolism.

Such is the sorrow of nature, beaten out;
a god-hand, lobbed to break the pooling instinct—
leaving us with little left to call ourselves.

We watch him bear the bible
like a cross along the path—
as if to pave chaos
and usher freedom to slaves.

Arriving alone at derelict sanctuary
Looking back, pleased, upon his works.

President Obama Town Hall today at 5:00.

ANGUISH AND ACTION

We work to help leaders change their world—and the world needs changing. The killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the loss of far too many Black lives to list, have left our nation anguished and outraged. While now is a time for grief and anger, it is also a time for resolve. Find resources below to learn what you can do to create a more just and equitable world.

Education matters and makes a massive difference: it KILLS ignorance. The below is from a long-time friend who couldn't understand the difference between #Blacklivesmatter and all
lives matter.

Tammy [. . .]  I believe we should treat everyone the way we want to be treated. George Floyd's murder tears at my heart. How a human being could treat another with such disregard for his life should anger us all--it does me. I would do anything in my power to give my boys a better world, one filled with peace and harmony, not hate and anger. I'm slowly understanding the difference between Black Lives and All Lives matter. Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks for suggesting 13th, it was inspiring.

Excellent.

Being able to politely debate is a sign of a person truly aligned with his or her party, religion, cause, etc.

Each party has it's share of parasites that are more about drawing attention to themselves through the act of being hardcore and relentless on warpath. As representatives, they do their party more harm than good by resorting to insults and spreading disinformation.

Truth. Which is why I am so adamant that we not judge all by one.

May I ask what is this praiseworthy attitude with Bush and Obama
Bush a warmonger Obama a sneaky liar
Is it just because they oppose Trump? Unbelievable
We forget all to soon when the manipulated narrative starts blinding us concealing the truth by using emotions against you
Wake up stay awake
Biden? Predator what would you do if he touched your children the way he has touched others
No Im not supporting Trump his behavior is unacceptable as a leader of this country
I say call off the election
Do we really want Michelle Obama as president with her husband as vice ?
Oh hello Oprah as vice no thank you

I really don't know enough about Michelle  Obama to even speak against her

Sometimes I literally pinch myself and ask what planet I am on in here.

Typically I ignore comments such as these because they honestly don't warrant attention, much less a response. And most importantly, they're really not about me, so I'm more curious than anything. you've been doing this to me for months now, i.e. - shadowing me and taking things I say out of context. I have to wonder if someone is messaging you, stoking a fire that's not there; or, if you're honestly coming up with these things yourself. If this is the way your mind just works.

staunch
/stôn(t)SH,stän(t)SH/

adjective
1.
loyal and committed in attitude.
"a staunch supporter of the antinuclear lobby"

Right. That's very "biased, prejuidiced, [ and] judgmental" of me to refer to my longstanding friend as loyal and committed to his self-professed political affiliation.  Got it.

Heel to the Chief

We live in America
where freedom to critique
our politicians is abundant

Those of you from
other countries — chime in!
Be pontificating or punting
pundits

And don't tread lightly—
grow yourself a pair—
throw a shoe ( or two )

while you can, of course

before Donald Trump decides
to issue an exective order declaring
shoesmakers be held liable
for demonstrations of disgust
should a direct hit leave
our Commander in Chief
with a lasting impression
of your soles

Just don't let us catch you referring to Hillary Clinton as a vagina or there will be hell to pay!
