The first was so sad ( I don't recall seeing it before ). I'll never forget when he died; I was a lifeguard that year and the entire pool was practically dead that day. A very sad cloud hung over the south ( and the world I am sure ).
The second is one of my all-time favorites. I think I've seen all his movies; my mother was a fan.

I was working in Old Orchard Beach , Maine ,
the day he died , in a restaurant...
The cook / manager was the son of the Greek
family who owned it...he was absolutely nuts ,
and a rough and tough personality...
( His best friend was a Golden Glove boxer )
He had a beautiful Greek girlfriend , and more
than once , threw a cleaver at someone through
the cook's window , when someone was flirting
with her...
So , the day Elvis passed , ( and he and his family
and friends all had tickets for the tour coming up )
he heard it announced on the radio , and threw
everything down and raced out the door , with no
explanation...
A few hours later , he walked back in huge wad of
cash in hand . and smiling...
I asked him where he got that much money and
where he went...turned out , he had run out the
door , and bet all his relatives and friends they
would not see Elvis soon at the concert...
After they put money down , he told them he died
and just took the cash...guy really was nuts...;)

After death of his Mum last week, some really eerie stuff coming from Morrissey’s camp. This is from a piece by Gavin Bryars played over a homeless man reciting ‘Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet.’ There is a version featuring Tom Waits. (clip may not open).
