... and here's the two triangles which now need edging, then carefully joining with a 'head hole' in the middle - and finally the trickiest bit, felting it carefully down to size and brushing it to bulk up suitably.

Not sure what you mean by "multi-layered" but the felting process will shrink it in size (it will start as a 1.5m x 1.5m square when the two halves are joined together) and then as it shrinks it will 'bulk up' and with careful brushing it will be fuller with the alpaca threads somewhat matted, making the whole thing more solid. Anyway, I'll post a pic when it's finished.
