Due to Johnny's temporary state of dyslexia, Wendell Berry vs E.E. Cummings is being conducted this month; however, E.E. Cummings will be our male Classic Corner competition for August. Thus, we need to know which female poet you would like to run along side him!
You can also recommend a female not on the list for next month's poll! Each competition, given enough entries, will encourage the Webmiss to create a theme for a poet.
Here is a list of poets we have already held challenges about and earned themes for, so keep in mind there is no point in recommending them:

Thank you to all who voted. We still have a few more days; however, looks like Anne Sexton will accompany E.E. Cummings as August's Classic Corner features. Kaur and Lowell will be featured in next month's poll.
Also, the hashtag links for Olds and Lorca have been updated.
Thank you, as always, for supporting the Classic Corner Competitions.

I hope I can post this here:
I submit a match to help ensure this wonderful female poet for future consideration for the Classic Corner competitions:
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Many thanks,
Kathy <3

Love Edna St. Vincent Millay, but voted for Rupi Kaur selfishly because I feel such a close connection in the way we write.

Hi Kumar!
It’s all good that you voted for Rupi Kaur... some of us are suggesting Vincent hoping she’ll be up for the vote when the next open month to pick comes. And so, I too would love to suggest for consideration:
Edna St. Vincent Millay
( and believe me, Vincent would get a big kick if she were alive reading this thread )

I voted for her too, Satin. There is just something about her story as well as poetry. She is an example of how self-publishing can be successful, but you have to put yourself out there. I wanted to include a more modern yet successful poet to the mix. She will undoubtedly become a true classic one day. Her Indian mysticism is deeply ingrained.
Jade is correct in that Millay will be featured in next month's poll. Thank you, Tallen, for nominating her.

Bumping this in hopes someone breaks the tie between Sexton and Kaur before the deadline Wednesday! Whoever places second will automatically be represented as September's female poet, while the winner will run alongside E.E. Cummings next month.

Hey! Not sure who broke the tie between Sexton and Kaur, but it's much appreciated! We're closing it now so we can move forward with August's comp prep featuring Sexton and Cummings.
Kaur will be featured as the female in September's comp. A male poll to determine who is featured with her will be posted the first of next month! We'll resume the regular polls including all your suggestions and fe/males such as ( Lowell and Giovani ) who received votes in this months poll ( as well as next month's ).
Thank you again for supporting the Classic Corner comps! See you next month!
