Call Jesus
down from that cross. Call my tongue a crown
of thorns, a patch of nettles sunk deep in an arm.
I’ve found every sparrow God has forgotten
to watch over. I’ve wreathed them in briars
and hung them from the back fence. They say
they’re tired of singing. They sang only to be noticed.
I am noticing. They are noticed.

“We’re all born sinful, except for Jesus, who was born perfect, of course. He was sent to save us. But how can he save us, if we’re not sinning? So we have to go on sinning, in order to be saved. That’s why Christianity suits so many people.”

“Of course it doesn’t make sense. That’s why you have to have faith. I mean, if it made sense, it wouldn’t have to be a religion, would it?”

I love this place (DUP), I'm constantly reminded of how little I know.

Thank you for posting this, I feel a little bit changed by it and can't really put my finger on why...

I think it was because it was raw and messy. That makes me fear the lack of structure.  There's something that recognises the fearless destruction of order and out of the concrete crack a rose blooms, the thorns cut deep.

Eeek, sorry, I'm stoned as fuck!
