For me writers block is a fiction that depends upon an erroneous idea which is itself out coming from a need to conform and comply with one's own expectations and indeed the expectations of others. One needs merely to recognise what it is that the unconscious needs to say and to allow that and respond to that rather than a set of obviously redundant ideas and expectations developed in relation to things that one has done in the past they are gone and finished with let your unconscious be what it will be there is no such thing as writers block where any writer has sufficient courage and humility to do that.

(I would not advise taking previous posters up on their suggestions of stupidity, and driving on acid sounds like an incredibly awful idea)
Personally I only become stuck when I haven't read anything for a while. I tend to have three categories of books: studies, funnies and trash.
Studies: good poetry and classical texts that I make too many notes about, fantasy novels with sprawling worlds and some childrens' books with wild stories and hidden depths.
Funnies: instapoetry stuff/parodies/joke books.
Trash: mostly awful YA vampire novels (we all have guilty pleasures p.s.- no not twilight, I said trash not kindling).
What I read depends on my mood, the current business of life and various other esoteric things like availability of coffee, current colour of the leaves and whether or not the rescue dogs will allow me to sit down and crack a book open! I've found that no matter what I'm reading or giggling at the inspiration returns.
I'd also make a note about writing with booze/weed etc as somebody who's done it in the past: it's not advisable. Yes you can create some great poetry but I've seen those who become reliant on it and struggle to write without such substances handy. Which is okay if you have a neverending bucket of whisky but otherwise can really screw your flow up.

I am glad we are *all* different...
For over thirty five years , I had an incredible life experience
ingesting herb I , or other friends grew , many psychedelics ,
high grade strong beer , and other various substances...
Now it is only the good beer , yet I am not only perfectly coherent ,
I am a teacher of the underlying code of consciousness , and teach
high level clients , from professors to scientists , to film makers , to
those in high level businesses...
Not everyone reacts to strong substances the same , and some find
it increases their ability to tap into deeper levels of the mind , which
creates a positive dynamic for their expression...
This , each person must determine for themselves...it is a personal
path , and decision , and I encourage each being to make their own
decisions , yet with grounded wisdom , regarding ingestion , and
the effects on their consciousness , will force , and health...:)
For some of us , during certain short , or long term , ingestion of
substances can unlock the creative genius...others , not so much...;)

tullamore dew in a glass with 3 cubes of ice usually does the trick.

When I focused on my prose back in the day (like 12 years ago), I would occasionally hit a wall. When this happened, I'd open my desk drawer and grab my box. I kept little things in the box. Things I liked. Like a smooth rock. A matchbox car. Washer. Loose change. An old wrestling medal. A couple toys from my childhood. Anything that was small enough to fit in the box and that I liked. I found by distracting myself with my box, I was able to get back on track with the writing easier than if I forced myself to write through the writer's block.

I've found a few techniques to help me with writer's block. Resting and reading (not just poetry!) have been very helpful. I am the founder of Pencraft, an app that aims to help writers overcome writer's block. Among other features, it offers AI-generated poetry (can be used for writing prompts!), a digital dictionary & thesaurus, and a poetry search engine (can be used for inspiration).
