Writers Block

I can't help you. You are obviously an inspirational writer like me & nothing can change that.

My best advice is don't force talent, it will appear whenever. Inspiration is all around

Just start writing off your emotions  then build on that. Try not to think of styles etc..  I have been writing my recent poem and it’s taking me over a month to write I’m already up to a thousand words. Their is no time table. Also look up words  and use them I find this to be helpful in my creative approach.

I Built My Temple Of Words On The Cornerstone

Of Writer's Block As A Foundation Of Literary Bones

Of Those Who Went Before Through The Poet's Door

Embedded In Hollow Walls And Under Ground Floor

The Sound Of Chant And Respondu Breaking Through

Into Missives And Messages , Tomes Old And New

Penned By Fingers , Fire Of Spirit ,  Guided By Soul ,

Nothing Will Stop Me What I Write All Makes Me Whole ,

I Am A Blaze Upon The Page I Shall Speak My Joy And My Rage

I Build A Oral Cathedral From Primeval Memory Retrieval

Mantras Heard In My Inner Church Mesothelial

that's the thing. voodoo only works if you beloeve in it. {ie writer's block}

I write occasionally, but I think poetry all the time : faces, places, landscape.. all that jazz.

I find some satisfaction in it, allbeit 'head poetry' ( for want of a better phrase)

it doesnt bother me if i dont publish stuff.  i wouldnt put it down to some temporary disease

that said, i dunno, thats all i know.  chap with 50 years experiance
is probably a lot more wiserer

Agreed , Lepperochan !

Though I lost many , many , years of poetry , I myself have been writing

since I was fifteen...64 as of a few days ago !

We pay our dues...;)

But can you chew gum , do a jig , and write

poetry in your head at the same time ?

I’m inclined to agree, Lepp. I got poetry out of a loaf of bread the other day.

people do what they want.  if you're not writing, you don't want to, so do something else.  maybe you'll want to write about it.   maybe not

That's great , Lepp...

I live on an Isle off a river , mile from ocean...

It is literally a mini fishing village...

Salmon season opened on my birthday , a few days ago !

Nature and our interaction with it...is great poetry...

And Missy...finding poetry in warm , fresh baked bread :

Is the "yeast" we can do...

Whenever I have writers block I try to take a break and relax. Try thinking about why you are writing and why you like writing. Our brains can only handle so much! It's natural to take a break once in a while, but you also have to find a balance and eventually get back to work. Try reading some poetry and think about your past life experiences to get some ideas. Good luck! :D
