Favorite DUP Poets

I'll try to be less blatant than I usually am, because, of course I'm a fan of the clear greats here, like Jack, Jamie, Ray, Abra, Merda, Eamonn who is definitely coming up that way... (is this cheating? :D)

1. mbass33 - i don't say it enough, but the man has incredible eyes and writes through his life. i always get the feeling of strolling through streets of his experience and perspective when reading him. the writing feels walled into its own world as well as having a view that takes everything in and giving it back again at its original size without having compressed it into tiny brain files. rock on, mbass.

2. Betty - her erotics are fucking hot. sorry, right now she's my idol in that department.

3. LA - the girl is a rockstar poet. she's not afraid of it, and if she does find herself feeling that way, she can hide it behind her endless metaphors where she gets the feelings right through you whether you know her patterns or not. i envy her tousled-beautiful mind with its beach-blown, riff-finish perfection.

4. Deathproof - i've always connected with his philosophies, mindset(s), loves, lackings, layers and losses, (apologies for all the alliteration). his trademark is a chop-your-knees-out ending, but my favourite thing about reading him is the layering he does through a story. i can read, reread, and almost always come away with another piece to chew on for later. he's just a complete classic to me.

I love a lot of poetry on this site, but if I had to choose my favorite poets, I would say:


*Poetryman- I have enjoyed reading his work immensely. I love poems that have rhyme scheme as to those that are free verse (Not saying that I do not enjoy a good free verse poem, but I just really love a good rhyme). Most of his poetry, that I have read, has that. Overall, he’s a very experienced writer, and I always look forward to reading his poems.

* Raorrick- (Rachel) - When I first came to DUP, she was the first poet to have me mesmerized by her work. In my opinion, her way with words is both fascinating and captivating.

Bleedinginferno219- My hands down favorite poet to read on here, I have read her work since I first joined, and if it wasn't for her, I would have never found this place, or started writing more than just songs

Aglitch-  Her poetry is beautiful but vey stark and real at the same time.  Her poems bend the line between imagination and reality, but still has alot of relevance and depth.

Sumeet. He writes so elegantly and every poem is ten times better than the last. Some of his poems are rather long, which I usually don't like in poetry, but if it's his I'll be so enthralled with each stanza I won't be able to quit.
