Yeah. Those who would WANT me to read their poems would probably want to receive the constructive feedback that I give. I'm not one to say "This is good. It made me feel good. Thank you for writing good poems."

The merit of the erotic, bad spelling, petitioning for more readers. Now the deja vu is overwhelming me. Jesus, lets not fall down into that too.

Erotic poetry is not porn, rather it should not be porn. Porn is for the animal, porn gets it up and out. Erotic raies the interest, imbibed with inuendos to keep intentionally referring to sex but never quite delivering. Always teasing always flirting and fleeting. Porn relies upon the audience having a depravity that wants to be sated in a certain way. Erotic can draw anyone in, make even the most chaste long for the passionate chase.
For true insight see Steve's tag "DUP - Think of it like a poetry foundation partially subsidized by porn." and Gg78' tag "You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.". In other words; there'll be porn as long as people find a way to make porn.

Porn is tasteless, it doesn't leave anything to the imagination, it's explicit without being artistic. Erotica teases the imagination, and the senses, it can be very explicit and still be artistic.
Writing about what you got up to last night, or what you wish you got up to last night is not erotica. Erotica is art, not a pornographic recollection or recipe for sex.

Porn is your two cents shoved where the sun don't shine.
Erotic is your two cents... well, that would be telling wouldn't it, much easier to show you later alone.

Philthy pornographic sex can be art. Just saying. What's something to one, may be something else to another. The butterflies bloom like the insides of my soul, may be art to you, to some it's empty words. Beauty, art is in the eye of the beholder. Another tacky line, or the truth? Dk the Mona Lisa looks like a dull lady who needs to comb her hair. To some it's a master piece. Like I said to each his own. To me I like soft porn. So I like the hidden meanings instead of the dick slapping bull, but who am I to say don't write about it.

Yes, agree, mucho awesomeness Lord V!
Though usually (he said, waxing prosaic) I define "erotica" as
stuff I like and "porno" as stuff I don't like. Alligator clitoruses,
just to finger something entirely random, are erotic to me;
whereas a few others I could name probably feel differently.
"The larger the brain, the greater its subjective capacity." - Kurt Vonnegut
"Big brains lie!" - Ibid.
Porno or Erotica?:
<< true love 1 2 3 >>

here we are
my limbs
bound to yours
with packing tape
the fiberglass filaments
cutting into us
feeling
the slippery warmth
of blood
waiting
for the numbness
to relieve

pressing the shock button
pulling the food cord
crawling
in the maze
of your body
again and again
(for statistical significance)
but never

writing directly
on myself
captures the feeling
but the knife is dull
writing directly
on you
my poem reaches
from lip to breast
now
my knife is sharp

That is one fine poem Ray, that also happens to be erotic in places.

I share OP's feelings on the subject regarding poetry. In regards to the current topic of porn, google the definition because technically even the better written erotic poems could be considered porn. Tbh I think discussion on porn has little to do with the real issue which is the decline of artistic vision in the arts themselves (whether they be cinematic or in writing, I mean I've seen some pretty tasteful porn).
I wanted to add that I share much of the same beliefs as the Romantics, primarily that of intense emotion in poetry. Granted, that's not everyone's forte, however, I think emotion is key in this subject to distinguish between the biological and anamalistic fuck and the deeply intricate sexual encounter.
