If I went back to change stuff my work would never be done. Once in ink, done.

I agree somewhat. You gotta give a piece a chance to grow, it can inspire new thoughts on a matter. Perspective can change too.

I write to sort out my thoughts and feelings. My writing is a reflection of my spiritual and emotional journey through life. Because my thoughts and conclusions change with meditation and experience, my poems may change as well. Sometimes, a piece I have written in the past, becomes something completely new, based on where my path has taken me. As a person, I am not static, and therefore neither is my work.

Sometimes like sculpture... add this, move that, trim, polish, add...
Like painting, sometimes paint after, sometimes before, collage.
Almost, not quite, but close, no but maybe a little more,

I do it all the time.  deleted about 75  last year. they're mine, I want them to be poetry. that's why I write them. that's why I try improve them or delete them..
