waited in the curtained room

they were rare yet not diamonds
scattered among broken glasses
they're gone now, yours and mine
seemed shattered
but bright shards
embedded on old scars

scattered sloppy consequences
kind of a willing random absence
flashes of festering
wishes left silent
my haggard heart
choice ignores most attempts
heavy is the act
of maintaining
a cocoon-like
comfortability
where alone is proper function
perfecting the niche of solitude
becoming a shadowy harbor
colors filter out, slowing breaths
draining of vibrant impact
grey power imbues it's hue
hence this
monochromatic
me.
