under quiet moonlight
mischevious spirits conspire
to ignite a wildfire
that will burn with touch
like fireflies glowimg
auras rise
pheonix tries penetrating heaven
bringing forth ancient dances
sacred secret knowledge
felt between intimate souls

Despair carves it's name
of fathomless darkness
pressing down—
Oh, how it can press
Despondency
spreads like infection
contaminating, a mind
leaving charred thoughts in it's wake
A trail of poisoned tears
bubbles and burns
scarring, deep
where once sparkled of pure stardust
Marks of a black reminder,
the enormity of pain and suffering
or "that which does not kill"
how it sometimes strengthens
a colossal aching
Tearing it all down
to nothing
but ashy bits of bone and sinew
yet leaving just enough
to resurrect
that tiny flicker
called hope

allowing joy to spill over the brim
making true believers
or softening a hardened weary
smoothing severity in rough edges
suffusing opportunities

a balm of time
that captures poignancy
reflecting it back,
amped—
tenderizing that toughest part
with jaw drops
random speechlessness
and bated breath
with
