I sent wild lavenders
to keep the words company
never struck me they might wither
before they got there

wow, december already. I've missed a few days. some of you are doing very well with the continuity. I raise my forehead to you

well done. and well done one and all, some seriously good poetry being laid down. I think I'll run the thread until dec 2021. it'll facilitate those who are on for a poem a day for a year

it's not mandatory. there's 363 days left. gimme 10 in 10 days, 30 in 30, 5 in 5, 100 in 360. you're all welcome, and loved dearly

Plight Of The Bumblebee (NoPoo 21)

I can't  vacate the room
where our hearts once danced
the music has faded away
and silence reigns
but I'm still dancing on the tear stained floor

whispers and sighs

The face I see whenever I dream
Sunflowers slowly opening
A waft of rose scent out of nowhere
The rumbling of hunger within
The baby hairs on my neck caressed
Smelling your scent on my own clothes
A baby's fresh clean head
All dogs
Reading your poetry
Not reading your poetry (for an extended period of time and then binging)

~a small list of adores~

just a small note to say thank you to you @lepp for this thread creation and to all the poets / poetess that I've read within these 'walls'. I am grateful and consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to participate and read the spills that I have already and will undoubtedly continue to devour in the days to come. I haven't been @ DU long and I've only started writing poetry continually, with ardor when I arrived here, so I'm constantly learning and hopefully evolving. I am humbled that I can take this time to add to my learning curve, from you all....
Much love and respect

Fallen Angel

On the picturesque horizon I see everlasting beauty
From the land of Egypt, the Creator
To give blessings, grace, and love upon it’s honorable duty
And the nature of the fairest shall fall and deceive
The intellectual shall not parish upon the earthly it perceives

As thy alluring of the beast
Lips as sweet as wine, from the succubus’ mouth they shall feast
With a string of pearls, soft heathers adored in silken hair
Fair maiden of darkness under the ruse of the devil’s lair

Come hither look to the skies
Angels wings of God’s glory to shelter the meek from its cruel demise
Seek solace in the warmth of  my Heavenly wings
Where the melody of the soul and the mind shall joyously sing
Enrichment of the intellect outlasts the prominence of the mental carnage bling

what float thee fishes

put a jacket in the wash
even though the label said not to
it came out clean, looked the same
so I feel no shame in thinking
there's something afoot

(!!)

They're taking our children, you fools. and theirs too so they can pump minds full of give me stuff, and when am I allowed out again. the schools!! the schools!! are there no bells ringing.

(!!!)

If there's war
around the corner
count me in, but don't
jab me in the arm
with that thing

let's see what it does
to the old people
first

the shade and the restless

the weeping willow marked
the grave of a poet unknown
who lay in its shade entrenched
and left his poem etched

he knew it wasn't forever
as nothing truly is
made the earth his cover
the doorway to his bliss

the epitaph on the trunk
makes no mention of him
just one poem uplifting
'cept that last word grim

I’m a no-one
going for the devil’s
self-esteem
Matched fire with fire
and really struggled to fit
in with the dark poets

Rain doesn't know if it wants to gain strength or not...tries for a minute then goes back to soft

the first time since half a century
