I was sort of joking about the rejection letters. I wasnít trying to upset you. You just sounded very angry about literary mags.

Itís not censorship. Anyone can write anything they want and submit to whatever publication they want. Just because they write it doesnít mean it merits publication. Thatís why most magazines tell you to read past issues to make sure your style/voice matches up with what they have curated for their magazine. You wouldnít send a bdsm inspired porn poem to a conservative Christian lit mag. You wouldnít send sonnets to a magazine that is all about Japanese short forms. Itís their mag, they can do why they want.

If you want a magazine that accepts everything that is submitted, or has no style/genre/voice limitations, Iíd suggest you keep looking or start your own.

Itís the same problem for music, film, visual artists. Just because you make art doesnít mean you are going to get recognition for it.

Thank you, Sage, for reposting this link because, over time, I keep forgetting to post information about my publishings (as you had suggested).  So now, Iím about to redress that. Shortly,  Iíll be doing 3-4 posts separately due to links & images together.

Extract:
Other panicky white bros not only virulently denounce identity politics and political correctness ó code for historically scorned peoplesí daring to propose norms about how they are treated.

there's a LOT to reflect on if one reads the above article objectively.

@Cold Fusion ... Wow! ... loved the article! ... and Iím ordering the book by itís author.  Ironically I just penned a poem on Teddy Roosevelt and his myopic world views.  Itís amazing how those of his ilk try to pass themselves off as intellects, poets, writers and insightful social commentators when all they really are is scared little boys.

So much beautiful art is mutilated or lost because of this, which is the relevant point of this thread.

any attempts at correcting the historical, let alone correcting asking to be treated as anyone else is branded as PC and stifling of free speech.

those so called insightful social commentators/influential media figures cue the firebrand shock jocks or the 'fair and balanced' 'experts' on Fox News.. on the payroll of one man across the globe: Rupert!

yes coming back to the relevant point of the thread so much art and that includes the raison d'Ítre of this thread is being lost because of this.

I think poetry is in a place where its semi-mainstream. dunno about where other people live but here, and especially on UK tv spoken word is used to sell products from fast food to life insurance

have to agree with Miss Daisy. publication mostly depends on the publisher rather than the quality of the poetry. I reckon its about taking and making oppertunities  like everything  else

thank you. you're all beautiful people
