imagine ya are a millionaire, perhaps a billionaire, what other activity would you do than  eating 3 times a day, sleeping on a comfy bed, travel from a to b.  Okay, you'll do it with all the more luxurious ways but doin the same nevertheless.
ma question is, how much money, ya think or lets say adrently believe is enough for you to live a happy life? a happy rest of the life?

I used to have a really good job and earned a lot of money before I landed myself in entirely horrible circumstances with my ex.

I slept rough for a year and was totally incapable of working after a nervous breakdown.

Now that I am working, and I'm better, it's not the best job in the world, but it pays enough for me to eat, pay my bills, have a few days out. I now own my own house. Again, not the most amazing house in the world, but it's mine. Even then, 95% of my furniture and appliances aren't new.

Do I need stuff? Nope.
Did money make me happy before I was homeless? Nope, I drank it all.
Am I happy with the little things in life that make me smile? Absoloutly.
Would I give it all up to live a simpler life? Sign me up.

Money is relative, it doesn't matter how much money you make you're going to spend your money and always contemplate the possibilities of making more money.

How much money is enough really depends how you live your life and the people you surround yourself with... and whoever's got your credit card number.

I've spent a good part of a year travelling in my 4x4 and figured out you don't need much to live.

admiration missy!

true, felt this when lost in a jungle trail with wallet full of money and cards, dead mobile and half a bottle of voss water. ma money in banks nor ma property at home could do me any help, the monkeys, atop the tress with their barks and fruit were in fact richer than me, for they had thier shelter food n everything. kept me shaken for the next few weeks after eventually making my way, helped by couple o strangers. so yes, i admire all the comforts that i took for granted. made me a better person than being lost in the wilderness. surely tasted dirt that day.

one things for sure, money is not enough to make yo happy, no amount is.

but what actually does make us happy then?

Letting every situation be what it is instead of what you think it should be, and then making the best of it.

to think of what it should be is, executing judgement, making assumptions, presumptions and expecting it to be different.  some food for thought. there.

It's attachment, and attachment leads to suffering. Whalah! Unhappiness.

many men would agree, the attachment does lead to a lot of suffering.
but we do need that bit of unhappiness don't we(disregarding my pun in the above sentence)?

Only until we learn we don't.

I'm socialist. working class. My father was up a 7:30 every morning, and my mother had his breakfast  waiting on him. live it and love it.  I don't begrudge people money,  at the same time I understand a little of the mechanics of the system.

The disparage between the 1% and the rest of the world is extreme. The system is such that it will continue to suck all the money upwards at a progressive rate, thus make the disparage even more extreme

coupled with the mass introduction of robot workers, human workers will be in less demand anyway. fair bit down the road. but it's inevitable

that's just the system.

anyhow,  I'm easily happy. Parents own their house. I rent

I'm feeling I'd like my own house at this stage, so I might look into it. but, I have everything I need, and more. though I do sometimes want stuff

ah, the conflict. heh heh

*hat tip*
