The argument against marijuana has and always will end with alcohol. Google statistics and alcohol is hands down worse in every way. I won't deny that a few small problems may arise with legalizing it but the good would far outweigh them. I understand though. We don't need another cash crop in the US. 13 trillion in debt isn't that bad. I'll write Uncle Sam a check tomorrow and slap him in his fat lazy ass with it.

it should be legalize. Alternative medicine are more accepted now a days due to it's promising results unlike pharmaceutical medicine, alternative medicine don't give negative effect such as kidney and liver problems when it comes to long term use. As for my alternative medicine usage, I use medical marijuana. Different strain has a variety of uses and effect depending on your needs. Ever since it got legalized in Canada, I smell weed absolutely EVERYWHERE. The smell is even worse than cigarette smoke, and the people I've seen smoking it tend to get more aggressive than if they were to smoke a regular cigarette.

My point is: if people want to smoke weed or any cigarette for that matter, that's their problem if they want to damage their lungs. However, I don't appreciate having to suffer that smell. People shouldn't be allowed to smoke just wherever they want. What if someone with asthma was in the vicinity and suffers an attack? Or simply people who can't stand the smell.

As the saying goes: "be careful what you wish for."

I owe everything to Mary Jane.

I know I've probably dropped the cancer card on DU to many times, but to quote my oncologist, "Kimmy, you were so close to death, and have made such a remarkable recovery, you have the right to play the cancer card for the rest of your life."

With that said, let me briefly explain why I consider Mary Jane to be a saint.  Six years ago, a cancerous tumor was discovered surrounding my heart.  By the time they were able to stabilize me so I could take chemotherapy, the tumor spread like a claw around my throat.

Being I was diagnosed stage 4, the chemotherapy was rigorous.  It caused the tumor around my heart to become inactive.  But the claw around my throat was literally strangling.  That's when I came closest to death.

In order to destroy it I was given the maximum radiation.  My throat swelled so I could no longer eat.  Worse, I could hardly drink.  My doctors told me that unless I turned things around I would die.

That's when a friend introduced me to Mary.  Up till then, I had never, then a couple quick tokes, tried it.  The reason for my squeaky clean past is simple.  I was a steel worker who worked for Cargill.  For those of you who don't know, the McMillian brothers who owned Cargill during the Reagan years, we're equivalent to the Koch brothers today.  They were conservative crusaders who led the, 'work drug testing movement.'. Consequently, I and my co-workers were tested randomly.  So, I avoided Mary like the plague.

Being I was dying, and I had nothing to loose, I have her a try.  Almost instantly, I was able to drink and my appetite came back.

Because of her, six years later I'm still here.

God Bless Mary Jane.  Please, for life's sake, allow her to share her love with everyone.

And instead of worrying about her, let's concentrate on helping the 1% of us that are addicted too greed.

I was at a conference  about three years ago. we'd organized it to gain support for a medical marijuana legislation which was to be presented to parliament

also happening at the time, a young mother walked hundreds of kilometres from her home to parliament to raise awareness about the somewhat miraculous effects (as opposed to conventional medicine) it was having on her daughter who had extreme fits of epilepsy. it was life threatening. the government had refused to give her permission to give it to her daughter

after her walk, they still refused. she brought her child to Amsterdam. the child hasn't suffered a fit since

anyhow, a guy came to talk about his experience. his wife had developed cancer. the conventional medicine wasn't working. he was watching her waste away (they were both in their 60s) he got desperate to help her, went and found a source of weed, and put a spliff to her lips.   He said the changes were near instant. small changes like appetite, her shaking hands stopped, there was life in her eyes

he wasn't comfortable breaking the law but felt he had to, was less comfortable dealing with drug dealers so he decided to try and grow his own

he grew his own, stopped giving it to her to smoke and started putting it in her food. then he researched strains and tried different strains

he found a community of people in the same boat who support each other with tips, information and practical help

sadly, the lady lost her fight after some years, but the quality of her life up until then had changed for the better dramatically. that in itself, he said, was a godsend

also: Hat tip to you there, Kimmy. glad you made it

But know, my survival means I'm going to haunts DU till the end of my days.

Should be legalised in Britain.
Ambulances time is wasted more on people that can’t handle their drink, more than people that smoke weed. Our Government is so smart.
