Love the poem Todski and didn't see one ounce of explicit content. There is a sense of beauty and adoration. These types of poems should be seen by our youth. They show character, respect and love. All these things can teach what it is to be a man.

I say cunt a lot. Apparently you can’t have cunt in your poem without an extreme content filter. Even when said in jest.

I’d love for people to spend a day with me. It gets said as a term of endearment here. Blows my mind also.

Explicit is surely where there is no room for doubt… so in poems where wording ‘might’ be suggestive if that’s how a reader chooses to interpret it – the interpretation surely lies with the reader? Maybe the problem is not with the poem at all… or the wording… Just saying

Don’t read too many erotic pieces labelled with that extreme content thing these days as there’s copious amounts of gush (in my opinion) kicking around – but I’d hate to think it would mean missing the sensual pieces.

Well now see that’s the thing:
Most of my erotica is sensual but there’s no Sensual Category. So I put some in the Love Category, otherwise a poem winds up in the Erotic bin. It’s only recently you can add #sensual, but by then a warning now causes readers to reconsider going in.

So “sensual” is religated to what some may now consider the “trash heap”.

I feel I'm in the same boat. The poems are more sensual than erotic. Maybe there is a need for a new category.

I sure hope so, Tim, that would help at least.

( By the way, the laughing emoji was a typo )

I tend to use the extreme content label sparingly, perhaps more sparingly than some would like. It's really hard to tell when to use it. My question is whether it comes off as vulgar (obviously not always a bad thing!)

I mean you could become a DU paid member and you can turn that shit right off by the way. I don’t even see the extreme content warnings anymore. Mostly.

I dunno. An extreme content warning regardless of whether it’s there or not, will not stop me saying the word cunt. Ergo, I’m not gonna change how I am because of a content warning.

Seems to me if a person is put off reading a poem with an extreme content label, they probably shouldn’t be on deep underground poetry. Perhaps arse kissing fluffy kitten poetry.com would be more suited to such uber sensitive politically correct flesh globules.
