Porn is cold = it may as well be two manikins fucking.

Erotica is hot= It has passion and feeling between two people who are not fucking to make a wage.

Don't know where/how I derived this loose definition, but I always considered "Porn" to be much more "hard-core" than "Erotica"

Todski,  Eloquently expressed...with the added coincidence that I agree with you totally!  :-)  I can distill the difference between the two by remembering that e.e. cummings wrote "Erotica" and Linda Lovelace practiced "Pornography."  You made some great insights!

porn is erotica corrupted by capitalism - in that sense, it is difficult to separate porn from erotica since we are all imbued by capitalism.

Erotica is the description of the mystery of love expressed through the act of sex.

As an aside, I sent someone a link to Pound's Canto XXXIX expecting a response of something like, 'wow, cool poetry'; instead, I got, 'what are you sending me this porn for?'  I was quite shocked to receive the response.
