"Leaves"

The first leaf changes color
Dangling un-fallen from the tree
Its shadow wilts upon the floor
Seemingly before one degree
Has fallen from the mercury

As flocks of birds in flight
Moving south until the spring
Like eyes that say goodnight
Curling up and swaying
Much like hands that wave goodbye

Howling winds of Autumn
Shake the waving mountain seas
Even after the Mabon sun
Winter cannot claim victory
Until the last one leaves

"Sleep - Hiding From The Touch Of Death"

A slight chill disturbs the warm air
A change is coming but it treats life so unfair

What a scene, my eyes stop to stare
On a mountain my eyes behold a living flare

Though he's dying he doesn't care
for he knows one day he'll become his own heir

Now I sit in my rocking chair
Watching Life and Death consummate their love affair

He's given a chance to prepare
Then again it seems more like war that they declare

As Fates hand strips his body bare
Over and over death is met without a prayer

Out beyond the snow and the glare
In the field I see a skeleton over there

Will I Also Return

I was young as spring,
and held to an autumn's wind
like pomegranates
hung from the highest branches
before black crows hollowed them
•
autumn flurries came
with the scent of fallen fruit,
piles of dying leaves,
dark brothers crushed underfoot
to be shelter for next spring

This is a Rensaku of linked Tanka.

Autumn Night

(A necrolovers' demise)

Clapping leaves left behind their branches
As darkness embraces my wounded soul
Seeing nothing I raced against time
Towards the unknown with hate in my heart
Wherever I would find my lost being
Know that it's towards you I was going

You were my nemesis, how come my pillar too?
As much as I liked to kill you
That's as much I love you too
As well as I detested the sight of you
It's as intense of how I longed to touch every inch of you

Vile taste resides inside my mouth
And the chime danced to the tune of loon behind my back
Our bodies unite and my sanity falls in chunk
Mixing in with the salad of delectable insides
Of someone lifeless, swimming in crimson grounds

Oh, what heavenly smell and enticing sight!
Absolutely beautiful, making me reached a record's high.
You and I, we are two of a kind
We never should have met
Perhaps one life could have been spared

Before another one is sacrificed
To the glory of our earthly desires
Let me pull close the season come sundown, my love.
Our kind shouldn't be allowed a spring nor summer
Not even the white snow of winter
With this blade, let's fall to darkness together

They are safe now...

Autumn

We sat in the park

Leaves falling to the ground

We kissed
Your lips were cold

Autumn is coming

I’m Falling…Again

I’m falling

The season is here again
The cool weather seems to bring together familiar sensations
The breeze and atmosphere bring random commemorations
As I again fall free verse

It’s something about autumn
It’s like days of youth and expectation
When the world was a bigger place I had yet to go discover
The surprises life had in store for me that I would encounter
That I’d fall but get up again

I love the change in the wind
When leaves are tumbling announcing chilly days
Time for sweaters, scarves and gloves whenever it gets that cold
Like an interlude between the seasons ready to perform again
In the playing leaves once more

There is a distinct sound to it
The crisp air seems to travel with an echo in my ear
As if the resonance of years gone by accumulate in the sky
A melody of nostalgic memories both good and bad revere
When the leaves are falling again

Remission (A Poem Of Autumn)

Fall preformed
Arrives-
In shaken needles
Blankets of burnt sunrise
Muffling Adidas footfalls

Droplets descend
To roots caked in cracked thirst
Flushing our irate haze
The recovery of verve
Mending smoggy malaise

Gluey blue tones
Glance off an early ending
Angled Indian summer
In bitten apples
Crisp-
Impending sour bliss

Insects relent to
Careers skittering
Spent-
The littering snowbirds
In misdirected intents
Soar southwardly

And away migrate those obnoxious Cali plates...

Mabon Moon

Indian Summer burns like fire across the sky
Unseasonably warm till the rains dampen the flames
The Mabon breeze battles fiercely with Summer's heat
Together raking leaves off of the slumbered trees
Before releasing their tired grip all green turns into red
As I fall into a sea of leaves I fear I've lost the light within
When darkness casts her shadow across the Harvest Moon
My Autumn gray strips away the color foolish youth once granted me
While her Spring sun rises high my Sol sets within this chilled body
My pawns are gone as my knight fights with the courage of futility
No checkmating between her Equinox and mine can ever be
For I have but the desolation Winter brings to bring me to an end
and as her light begins to fade away I can see I've lost a friend
