Poetry Contest

Hairdos--any style---any length---even haikus work
Write a poetic piece..anything on your favorite style hairdo.  If someone wants to tackle a bouffant be my guest.  I hate bouffants, but you could still win even though I don't like them. This is all about creativity!  There will be winners & losers. But in reality, nobody is really a loser if they try.....

Good Luck Poetic Risktakers!  I can't wait to read about your favorite hairdos....

A Capastrophic Dilemma

To cap, or not to cap: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler to go bear headed
Letting the wind blow though my hair for vanity sake,
Or to protect those precious strands of beauty,
Under a tightly covered lid, hidden from the world?
For what hat is more lustrous than my fro?
What cap has the power to turn the girl’s heads like my locks?
I would be like hiding a light in a closet
No, I refuse to be corked like a bottle
So hear me declare, “A hat I shall not wear”
For my lion’s main shall flow free,
Never to be hidden that others might not see
That is,
In case,
By chance,
I start to go bald
Then the idea of a hat,
Might not seem such a bad idea
After all!

Hairdo

he had a pompadour
he was proud of his hair
full on his head without any grey

he loved the salon
where his hair was serviced
to look like Elvis

he loved James Dean
and copied the way
he lighted up his cigarettes

lighting up one day
too much lighter fluid
lighted up his hair

his hairdo went a step higher
looked a little like Jimi Hendrix's
from the front.

teasing you with my tiss

spraynet in hand and a comb with false teeth
slowly my bangs becomes all twisted and hard
its like finding beauty in chaos
like a stiff rod that wont move
standing all set, oh what boom!
I feel like an inch taller and a mirror prettier
I'm so 1980's I know!
Who cares?
Do you?

DREADFULLAshit

White guy with dreadlocks
Even tho my family mocks
I have the heritage of a Celt
And still they won’t be telt

That this particular style
Has been about for a while
Ancient Britons and Egyptians
Omitted from recent descriptions

Do I wash my dreaded hair?
Stereotypical ideas are so unfair
Clean locs, lock up quick n tight
Mine aint dirty, full of shite

Use a shampoo residue free
No fucking Pantene for me
Mango and lime tingle shampoo wash
Ready to groove to DNB or mosh

Dreads are awesome uber cool
A hairdo that will always rule
Adam Duritz from Counting Crows
Maxim @ Prodigy, rhymes and prose

Lenny Kravitz back in the day
Rob Zombie dreds turning grey
Bob Marley croonin, Mike Bordin drummin beats
Zach de la Rocha inciting rage in the streets

If you want dreds twist n rip
Using wax will become a bad trip
A dred journey takes some time
Here endeth the hairdoo rhyme

Plastica

Don't have to comb it,
wash or hair-foam it.
It's plastic like my smile,
I'm Ken and I sure own it.

Ooo-bop-baby
I drive Barbie crazy,
brown or blonde waves
makes the dolls insane.

Molded from a patent,
Mattel--oh what a racket;
assembly line locks
touch the collar of my jacket.

Ooo-bop-baby
I drive Barbie crazy,
surfin' in the waves--
all my hair stays in place.

I'm Ken and I am groovin'
hair like PVC tubing
Ooo-bop-baby
never needs a shaving.
Ooo-bop-baby
turn my head like Wavy-Gravy
Ooo-bop-baby
deflecting all the rain
off my plastica mane
Ooo-bop-baby--
Yeah!
