That’s what it fucking does to all of us, it twists us up
inside & out, can make one keel over in pain,
even lick vomit from the ground to prove a point.
Oh boy, it fucks with your senses,
all of them, not just one in particular.
The view on top can certainly deceive you,
because beauty in a fade can be rotten as hell,
putting you under a spell only to rip your eyes out forever.
And when you think you’re really having some fun with it,
living large on love, enjoying big cheese status with the person of your dreams
just pinch yourself…because it’s not real, it’s only a fucking illusion.
Oh sure girl, we’re told it can soothe our souls,
makes us meek as a lamb, sometimes a mouse,
warm & tender like a holiday fire
but in reality, it can turn you into the biggest louse,
morph you into a stone killer on fire with rage.
So in closing, just know this, get this perfectly straight,
it can stain your heart forever & create sensations unspeakable.

She forgot who I was
She didn’t know me anymore
Looking puzzled she shook her head
Before slowly closing the door
I wasn’t gone that long
And I was her lover and good friend
Had I been unfaithful or abusive
Would’ve she have remembered me then?
As my eye’s swell with tears
I walk away into the cold night
When suddenly I ask myself
“Did I get the address right?”
